If SONY can get PS3 down to $199 it will be amazing though.

Also another thing if you look at the air vents they are only on oneside. Which obviously means half of the machine does not have air holes. The current design has them at the sides of the console. Plus where is the infra red/sensor bit?

If you look at the picture and zoom in it actually looks distorted in places. Like the top half of the picture doesn't quite fit with the bootom half. The line just above the vents is not straight. The back of the console goes at a non straight angle. Which would make it very difficult to put into entertainment units.

The more i look at it the more i think it just doesn't look right. Would MS have sent pictures out early? Really bad pixelated ones?

They aren't but just look at the two pics and tell what you notice to be missing on the new hardware.

sadly like Sony I think Microsoft may be in the same boat..the scale may not be able to be reduced as some may like because, for instance the CPU IS MADE BY IBM

But the GPU is made by ATI so putting them both in the same die most likely would be out of the Question at this point.

both chip's are quite excessive in Heat generation. much like the Cell and RSX in the PS3

there's only so much you can shrink and you still need some size able active and passive heat dissipation for both chip's. yea it's not like the Wii that is for sure, though the Wii is quite heavy for such a small unit..:D

Price cut WiFi Smaller size will make me seriously consider the console. But don't want Natal. Not gonna buy a console for Kinect. GOnna buy teh new X360 for games like Halo Reach and Gears of War 3.

One of two possible answers for you here...

#1. You will need to plug them into the back of the console.

#2. This is just a mockup and not the final design.

My guess is #2 since it would be ABSOLUTELY asinine of Microsoft to put them in the back since people don't usually put memory cards in the back and it would hurt the whole point of the USB drive option they added.
