Forums - Sony - My PSN Purchases!! They're Gone!!

Not the games, though.  Just the movies.

You see, before I knew how to pirate movies and put them on my PSP, I bought movies from the PSN.  I spent a ton of money, too!!  All four Terminator movies, dozens of episodes of Robot Chicken, Forest Gump, etc., etc.  The problem was that my poor PS3 Hard Drive only stored 80GB of data.  Add to that my addiction to downloading games, videos, demos, and installing PS3 games, and those 80GB went quickly.

I had to make sacrifices.  Since the POLICY stated that I could always re-download the movies, the movies went first.  Anyway, I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and I bought an 500GB HDD.  Since then, I've been HDD crazy.  I've been downloading pics, porn, movies, and music.  I installed some 360 games.  And this morning, I've been backing up the data on my PS3.

So I figure, now is a good time to re-download those movies and TV shows I bought from the PSN.  I check my history and......apparently I imagined the whole thing.  According to them, I never downloaded ANYTHING!!  I must have tried looking at my history three different ways.  The result was always the same:  All of my games, all of my comics --they're there.  My videos?  Non-existent.

I shall be calling Sony shortly.  We are not amused.......are we, Kif?

Hoookay......I go to www.playstation.com for some answers and the site is in fucking Japanese.  What's going on, here?  I bet when I call the phone number, it's going to connect me to Kentucky Fried Chicken.

You put the 500GB HDD in the PS3? Have you activated your system after that?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Thats weird...maybe its because of the recent record-long PSN downtime thing... Hope you get it fixed..

For anybody interested, here's how it went.

-I checked on the playstation website and couldn't find an answer so I called the customer service number.

After about 10 minutes, I talked to a customer service rep.

Me:  "Hey, my name is Tim Lewis,  here's my account number, etc."

Douche:  "Oh, I'll be happy to help you Mr. Lewis!  Firsts, give me your model number.  Next let's go into the Playstation Store and look at your download history.  Oh, it's not there?  Log out and go into account management.  Check your purchases for 2009-2010.  Do you see anything?  Oh, you do, that's great!  You purchased Batman and Robin:  Sub Zero?  That's a great movie!!  Okay now go back to your download list.  The movies still aren't there?  All I can say is that someone at your house must have physically erased them from your account."

Me:  "Wait.  What?  Even the movies I didn't erase aren't showing up!"

Douche:  "Well, maybe you rented them.  Sometimes when you rent a movie, they still show up but when you watch them, they're deleted."

Me:  "No.  I NEVER rent.  It shows plain as day that I purchased these movies."

Douche: "I must apologize, Mr. Lewis.  There's nothing I can do."

Me:  "So I just lose over $100 worth of movies?"

Douche:  "I'm sorry.  Have a nice day.  Thank you for choosing Playstation"

Guess I'll have to pirate those episodes of Robot Chicken, Jack Ass, Invader Zim, Animated Batman movies, Boondocks, V, Camp Lazlo, etc. (many of which I probably don't even remember).

Try this.

Account Management -> System Activation -> PS3 System -> Video -> Activate System
