SONY is definitely gonna lose that battle..lol..NINTENDO is literally one step ahead as always.

Not really as they haven't announced Wii HD and if they don't this year and most probably will not it could be FATAL as for next gen they just can't bring an HD upgrade

and by that time NATAL,MOVE would have eaten Wii's share

Lol crazzyman is that you? Do you honestly think that move and natal will actually hurt the Wiis marketshare?

not hurt but with wii sales dropping, people think 360 and ps3 as upgrades and will go for it

and if wii hd doesn't arrive then they will eat wii's share and nintendo won't have that good name to carry on to nect gen

and with all the companies arriving in next 2 years wit new consoles, nintendo won't have the advantage that a gen winner has with its brand name built

and no i'm not crazzyman

Oh you mean like sony in this gen, right?

Sony can position the Move any way they want, but without the games that deliver, it's just style but no substance. I have a feeling most of their games are just going to be either core games with tacked on motion, or copycat mini game compilations.

Price is gonna be the major issue Sony faces in this regard. You can currently purchase a Wii with WiiSports, a Wii MotionPlus, and WiiSports Resort for only $200. The cheapest PS3 available is $300, and that's just for the system. Add a game, Move, and the Playstation Eye (it will probably be necessary) to that, and you're looking at over $400, more than twice the cost of the same amount of content available out-of-the-box with a Wii. Since initial value is something many of the average gamers base their purchasing decisions on, it'll be really difficult for Sony to put any kind of dent in the Wii's momentum, especially if the games they offer for Move are largely the same kinds of games available on Wii.

a game doesn't cost sony anything as its first party for the move bundle

PS3 is already making a profit and with more profit with 40nm RSX and fall 32nm CELL chips

SONY will be able to reduce their 120gb SKU price to $249 and not lose at it

now for the move bundle PS EYE cost barely $20 to make(it sells for $30),MOVE and NAV are just a broken up DUALSHOCK 3 which cost $30 to make(sells at $40) so MOVE NAV will be $50 and a game (free)

the toal comes to  $70

now if we take the $249 120GB SKU,SONY can easily bundle MOVE plus everything it needs it for a $20 loss which can be easily made up by 120gb SKU and 250GB SKU profit and SW sales

they can also take out DS3 from the $249 120GB SKU and bundle MOVE for no loss.

i don't know how the hell did you reach the $400 mark

Why should Nintendo make a Wii HD? It is a losing strategy. The flaw in your perspective is you believe Nintendo is, and should be on the defensive, when really they are the aggressor. Natal, and especially Move, are defensive strategies to keep core gamers on THEIR consoles, because Nintendo is threatening to go after the core gamers with motion plus, which are the vast majority of Sony and MS's market. If Nintendo can entice core gamers with motion controls, then it's all but over for Sony and MS.

Nintendo making an HD Wii would be merely conceding defeat to Sony and MS, and why on earth would they concede defeat when they are the market leaders?

They will make an ALL new console, likely in a couple of years, with a new hook to differenciate themselves like they did with motion controls and the balance board, at which point Sony and MS will probably copy these new features as well. This strategy will keep Sony and MS constantly on their heels.

your right!!! SONY is preparing for something that will mkost likely not happen!. SONY wats to cut Wii2 off, but what happens if there is no Wii2 but a entirely differnt NINTENDO console? SONY just wasted alot of time..instead of trying to predict the unpredictable NINTENDO they should focus on creafting there own orginal idea for next gen. So they wont be stuck trying to catch up all gen again

yeah but PS4 is also due in 2012.

its just that if Wii popularity falls it could be tough to pick it up even with a different innovative thing nect GEN

as PS4 will be cheap as blu-ray is cheap now

also Wii will have an advantage starting next gen early with this GEN winning and poplularity but if they leave it too late,it can be bad

Nintendo is threatening to go after the core gamers with motion plus..................................lmao

Motion plus is not gonna work on core gamers

i am not saying they should only do HD but other things too with thei new console, just that if they release their console say 2012 and till then their popularoty is down from what it is now, they will lose the GEN winner advantage and as PS4 this time ain't going to be expensive

good that devs are excited for 3DS. means more games

Move and Natal wont be as big as many people believe. in fact i think Natal will do better than Move....IMO

So you don't think core gamers are going to be into Zelda Wii?

Let me ask you this, why then do you think Move will work on core gamers, if motion plus will not? Am I missing something?

Of course their new console will be HD. But it will more than likely not come anytime soon, and it will more than likely have new features that separate themselves from the competition.

Nintendo will not lose to Sony as long as they keep to their disruptive strategies, as this will keep Sony on its heels.
