It's an interesting concept, and a nice time waster for sure, but I don't think it's much more than that.

Now this is a sign of brainwashing. Grow up kid. OT: I find it rather naive to think that home can replace peoples online social life, when it clearly won't ever reach out to other people than ps3 owners. You also have to take into account that the thing may become frustrating in the end. Supposing i want to just ask a buddy of mine, if he would liek to meet up then what will i use? The internet? Home? Or maybe a cellphone? Or maybe i'll just talk to him face to face. In terms of speed, the phone beats everything. Same with getting clan practices ready, making multi person conferences on an internet communicator, which can also be used on cell phones, will be much less of a chore than actually doing it on Home. In the end, Home is only a communicator with a lot of fancy-shmancy extras, that don't really help in any way.

I couldn't agree more.  All Home does is complicate things that we as a society have been trying to somplify for a long time.  Home, to me, is an idea that shouldn't have left the boardroom.

Ok, lets face it, the reason why Myspace and Facebook is popular

1. Everyone has it already and all your friends are already on it.

2. Meeting people you dont know is weird.

3. Social networking is fun if there are girls in it.

4. A community of 99% guys is really weird for social networking outside of prison.

 I see those 4 points.

1. Everything had a rough start, i don't think MySpace was popular from the very beginning.

2. If that was true MySpace and Facebook wouldn't even exist.

3. Agreed but...

4. If that was the case Xbox Live wouldn't be so successful, remember that Sony isn't trying to compete with MySpace or Facebook, they try to rival Xbox Live.

Can we ban this eugene guy from making posts? I mean if he was at least an intelligent fanboy making these post then fine. Hes made one of these like the past 10 days.

How old are you eugene, honestly?

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

On topic HOME is going to be a success among the PS3 users with lots of games, tons of time and internet connection... yeap thats all... the rest of us are going to stick with the old and good web browser + a messenger client...

Home is basically Second Life for the PS3. People seem to like Second Life so they'll probably end up liking Home. But I think Home was for a different kind of person. A person more along the line of myspace and whatnot. LIke the people who do Second Life. I don't think it fits the stereotypical PS3 gamer at all. I think that could hurt it as I don't see PS3 Home as a selling point for the console. Things like that never are.

But I don't think it'll fail. I mean in theory its a good idea but I think its out of place for numerous amount of reasons other than the gamers on the PS3.

HOME is not secound life..
