Home is basically Second Life for the PS3. People seem to like Second Life so they'll probably end up liking Home. But I think Home was for a different kind of person. A person more along the line of myspace and whatnot. LIke the people who do Second Life. I don't think it fits the stereotypical PS3 gamer at all. I think that could hurt it as I don't see PS3 Home as a selling point for the console. Things like that never are.
But I don't think it'll fail. I mean in theory its a good idea but I think its out of place for numerous amount of reasons other than the gamers on the PS3.
