Forums - Nintendo - No Castlevania Lords of Shadow for Wii/DS to avoid “family friendly Version

"It's an epic myth. It was important to portray his origins, the mystery boy of a virgin birth capable of performing miracles. While it sounds very Christian, it really fits the archetype of most myths."

That's no excuse for something that had no purpose in the story. Such births in myths actually went somewhere with those. You don't just throw in elements like that if you aren't going to do things with them.

Plus getting Anakin padded out the middle of the movie, which is objectively far worse than anything Jar-Jar did, in terms of raw minutes of time we didn't need on Tatooine.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

What the hell are you people talking about? Get back on topic!

Speaking of which, their response literally makes no sense to me. Castlevania has never really been a "family friendly" series but it's not over the top either, if they have to alter the themes then they're doing something wrong. Not to mention Wii and DS already have CV titles. It's not an impossible feat, clowns!

As an avid Star Wars fan, I agree that both Jar Jar and the writing are atrocious. I highly disagree with darth though. Jar Jar deserves ALL the hate he's gotten AND THEN SOME! Has there ever been a more worthless, pointless character than Jar Jar Binks? I don't think so.

Maxwell brings up a good point that the people around George Lucas should've just screamed "NO" at most of his ideas, but after discussing this with many people, I've concluded it's likely he would've just said "Screw you" and do it anyway.

Anakin at 9 years old. There was no point to showing him then. It didn't even fit the "When I first knew him, your father was already a great pilot. But I was amazed how strongly the Force was with him."

Sure older Anakin was a jerk, but at least we wouldn't have Gary Stuwalker.

Well, to be fair, Anakin in Episode II wasn't much better, unless you enjoyed his great character building speech about how he doesn't like sand...

At least Anakin is relevant at some point, and he is the de facto main character of the series. Jar Jar, on the other hand, never had a point.

I already pointed out older Anakin wasn't much better, so how can it "be fair", when I agree with that? The term "to be fair" is not a response. It's from the critic making a counterpoint in the middle of a criticism.

That seems rude, but as a TV Tropes regular, I hate that phrase now, especially when it's used incorrectly.

Sorry, I don't read people saying characters are jerks to mean that they don't like the character. I've liked plenty of characters that I'd classify as jerks...

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I do understand the claims of Dave Cox (funny name).

Judging from the "performances" of third party games on that system, I can understand how they wouldn't be willing to put any energy on a Wii version.

People will always throw the lame excuses: "they don't even put efforts into their games" or how "everything they do are on-rail shooter" and shit. But the truth is games that were given efforts like Zack and Wiki, The Crystal Bearers, No More Heroes, among others just don't sell nearly as much as the ones created for PS3 and 360.

Blame the marketing, blame the developers, blame the HD consoles, your Grandma and your cat, but the outcome in the end is still the same.   Third party games don't sell on the Wii compared to the ones on the HD consoles.

And the exceptions don't make the rule. ^_-

Im shocked, but not mad. People shouldnt get mad over a small opinion and this guys opinion is just full of hot air. Apparrently the past main Castlevainia titles on the NES and SNES aren't mainstream to the eyes of this guy. If I had a nickle for everytime, developers, or people in general in the gaming industry say that, Id be rich.

LMFAOROFL!!!  (seriously ¬_¬)

And you're trying to tell me Monster Hunter 3 isn't as niche a title as NMH?

Again, even the numbers of Monster Hunter Tri pale in comparison to how a game like this perfoms on the HD consoles.  The game is selling less and less, almost abysmal actually (just a few weeks, and has barely sold 1.4M units.  The game is selling barely a few thousands after only 7 weeks in the west, and hasn't even reached  half a milion in America and Europe combined).  The game was a relatively successful in Japan, but elsewhere in the world is an entirely other story.  Indeed, that would be expected from a niche game, right?

In comparison, most games of that caliber reach the half milion point in their first month (or even sooner) on the HD consoles.

How are the NES and SNES titles of any relevance to the argument here?

I'm sorry, what? Are you serious?

As serious as he is calling NMH a niche game. ¬_¬
