The saying is SONY put money into LA Noire...but the project was a disaster and SONY lost that money (LA Noire was for PS2 initially)

So now "Agent" is like a repayment for that money. I heard that on some podcast.

Yup.

Refer to my post above, I just said that same thing.

Why are people still doubting this anyways?

You guys DO know why Agent is exclusive right? After GTAIV was supposed to be for PS3 and then went multi, Sony had a meeting with Take-Two and Rockstar and then that's where Agent came up, and from there they signed a deal.

I can pretty well gaurentee this won't be going multiplatform.

And people talking about the episodes for GTAIV, M$ paid for timed-exlusivity, not 100% exlusive. As if Rockstar would make that an exclusive when it sold so well on PS3 as well, and Sony and Rockstar have 1000x the relationship than M$ and Rockstar.

So Agent wouldn't sell well on the 360? Your logic is flawed.

I fixed my post.

And where did I say it won't sell on 360?

Your last paragraph implies it.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

oh right just saw your post too.

So basically Agent has to stay exclusive.

Which part?

Sony and Rockstar have a stronger relationship, fact.

Rockstar never planned on making the episodes exclusive?

Where did I imply Agent wouldn't sell on the 360? I'm sure it would sell, it just won't be multiplatform.

What I dont freaking get is why make an exclusive game for ps3 and not one for 360, when clearly rockstar's games have been selling well on the console, they should show us who support them on 360 some love too......Im pissed!!

well that may be true or it may not the reason:

this has been up for quite a while

February 6, 2010

Sony did fund Team Bondi on this project initially. However, the speculation is that Sony pulled funding because the company was not satisfied with the progress of the game. Apparently, Rockstar and Sony worked out another exclusive deal for a game (Agent) to be developed in-studio. In turn, Sony promised not to pursue the funds already invested in L.A. Noire.

this has not been disputed by Sony or Rockstar game's or take 2 but if you go to the official site for the game it still say's PS3 only:

http://www.rockstargames.com/agent/

so who know's

Sony & R* have a relationship like that though. They've been tight like this since the early PS2 days.

How many exclusive games has R* made for Sony home consoles?

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

if RDR is any indication, Agent will be a monster exclusive.

The two GTA IV eps were exclusive too. So there you have your Rockstar exclusivity history.

ROCKSTAR's exclusivity history?

GTA was always associated more with PS platform so not getting the GTA4 eps would have not been possible

also GTA4 was SONY exclusive but they exchanged it for 3 exclusive games in the future so GTA4 being former PS3 exclusive had to be with its eps on PS3

AGENT also could be timed but it  will surely not be coming to 360 for first 1.5 year

You don't seriously believe that, do you?

Besides, GTA was never PlayStation exclusive. Not a single GTA has released only on a PS platform, other than the PSP games. And that was only because the DS could never run Vice City Stories or Liberty City Stories.

GTA/Rockstar games were/are always time exclusive.

Ah, like the MS funded GTA IV episodes.  So that's why they stayed exclusive to the 360.  Except they didn't, as it ended up being a timed exclusive that could never be called that until it was announced for the PS3 and PC.

Unless they say "this game will NOT come to the 360 ever", Rockstar's history proves that this is likely a timed exclusive.  There is NOTHING in their history that would lead anyone to any other conclusion.

And if the PS3 gets its first for 9 months, why would any PS3 owners even care at that point?  The system gets enough exclusives now and is doing really good.  Don't be so selfish.
