Everyone is saying they've gotten viruses and I think my parents would kill me if I got on a virus on this computer...

When I got a virus on the last computer (I still have no idea how, literally all I visited was a few websites, all of which official company websites) it was such a pain and took like half a year to get off.

Well, see ya guys...maybe if I get a Mac then I'll start coming back on.

Its from the ads. Use firefox and add in Ad Blocker Plus.

Buy a Mac.

They dual boot into windows now and when your windows partition becomes hopelessly virus infested, you can nuke the f*cker and reinstall it from the Mac side.

Firefox + AdBlock Plus = no viruses or ads. Isn't that a bit easier than buying a mac?

That's a winning combination.

I browse the web with this combination myself and never understood what anyone was talking about with ads or viruses and whatnot.  Took a look at it in IE7 and was like "OMG there are banners!"

Fear is a lack of knowledge.  Learn more about how to protect yourself and you won't be afraid.
