I've read To Kill A Mockingbird in the 8th grade.  It's an excellent book.  I can't believe you didn't read it.

I don't like reading. It always makes me feel stupid.

I mean, is there supposed to be a point to running up and touching a freaking door? Does it display the innocence of children? The epic mystery of Boo Radley?

Personally, I thought that scene was a waste of my time.

I read the last book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series a few weeks ago. The whole series is humorous, entertaining, and easy to read.

I'm currently reading the second book in the Sword of Truth series, which I expect to finish in a few months, as it'll be the longest book I've ever read in all likelihood.

What do you think of the first two books in the sword of truth series? I've watched the tv show and I hear the book is far better so I'm interested in starting the series.

Recently I've read The Name of the Wind, Ender's Shadow and Halo Evolutions all of which have been very good. Especially the Name of the Wind, the author has set up a amazing universe and I can't wait for the second novel to be released, highly recommended.

Currently I'm reading the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series and so far it's excellent.

You know. When I was in school. I never read books. I always used chapter summaries. and I almost ALWAYS got the highest grades on every test. I used to piss off the kids that did read big time.

NYS is one of the hardest states for school too, can't imagine how easy it would be in the south. (No offense).

Then you weren't being tested very hard. Any good teacher asks specific questions about the assigned novel such that reading spark notes does not help in any way. Not to mention most good teachers read the spark notes summaries so they can avoid asking questions covered on the website.

In most cases the quality of the school you go to is more important that what state your school is in. And no I'm not from the south, I went to school in Massachusetts in the third highest ranked public school in the state.

Did I mention that I read many versions of spark notes? :D I know that every site is different. If I rely on one site i'll fail. Jeez, with the amount of time I spent, I probably could have read that chapter! ....But this way I win! Wuahahahaha.

Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I hope to be a published author someday. I just read the first two Lord of the Ring Books and I want to shoot myself in the head for it =D.

Just Return of the King Left then on to Slaughter House 5.

No! Stop! DON'T read Terry Goodkind!

Trust me, I'm not just spewing bullshit. I read probably 40 books a year, and a good 20-25 of those are fantasy/spec fic. Terry Goodkind is the WORST. Not just writer-wise, but the bullshit, heavy-handed Ayn Randian philosophy he brings in to later volumes...I could go on, and if you want will literally provide links that documents his terribleness both as an author and a person.

I really, really recommend you pick up 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss. It's one of the best books published in any genre in the last half decade--I promise you will be blown away by it.

Uh, if you think that not reading books and simply passing a class is "winning"....hmmmmmm.
