NYS is one of the hardest states for school too, can't imagine how easy it would be in the south. (No offense).


Then you weren't being tested very hard. Any good teacher asks specific questions about the assigned novel such that reading spark notes does not help in any way. Not to mention most good teachers read the spark notes summaries so they can avoid asking questions covered on the website.

In most cases the quality of the school you go to is more important that what state your school is in. And no I'm not from the south, I went to school in Massachusetts in the third highest ranked public school in the state.
