Forums - Nintendo - I Just bought a DS.... I need some game recommendations :)

last night i bought the limited edition Nintendo DS Zelda Bundle, but it won't ship till next monday. i plan on buying pokemon pearl, new super mario bros, final fantasy 3, phoenix wright 1-3, contra 4, and both castlevania games....

 

what other games would you guys recommend?

Elite Beat Agents is awesome if you like any kind of Rhythm games. Hard as hell well, so you’ve been warned. (Easy mode isn’t so bad)

Also I thought Super Princess Peach was really good. Nobody ever seems to mention it, but I thought it was really good platformer.

Elite Beat Agents. Mario Kart.

Other than those...Metroid Prime Hunters or Pinball, Picross, Meteos...those are great.

I'd have to recommend Advance Wars. And then I'd recommend it again.

 Sonic Rush (the first one.. I haven't played the second one) and Final Fantasy III are both classics IMO.

Here are the games I have comments on:

Any training/brain age game - You'll know if you are into these. Im not, but a ton of people are.
Nintendogs - Same thing. I dont like them, others do. Think virtual pet though.
Mario Kart DS - If you like the franchise, it is a neat game. Online play. Missions, Cups, etc. I really enjoy this game.
Kirby's Canvas Curse - Good game. Not conventional Kirby though. Completely controlled w/ the stylus. I would check out gameplay videos to see how it is played. 
Super Mario 64 DS - Port of the 64 game. If you have a Wii, its on the VC for about $8 I think. 
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin- I really enjoyed this game. Zombie killer game. Ive heard the other Castlevania DS title is better, but I enjoyed this one too.
Jump Ultimate Stars - Great game if you want an import. it is in all Japanese. It is basically a Smash Bros with anime characters. If anime and japanes isnt your thing, you wouldnt like this.
New Super Mario Bros - Good, clean fun. Just a mario side scroller. It was fairly easy, but I didnt mind. So was Galaxy.
Zelda Phantom Hourglass - You are getting it. And you'll love it.
WarioWare Touched - Fun little minigames. If you have played WarioWare games before, you know what to expect.
Elite Beat Agents - a fun rhythm game. 
Ouendan - This is basically Elite Beat Agents in japan. Another import and offers the same kind of gameplay. If you love Elite Beat, Ouendan may be a game for you (it has more titles in the series). Once again, all Japanese.


That is all I can remember right now. If you have questions on any game I mentioned or any other game that isnt on here, ask away. I've completed all the games I mentioned above in their entireties.

Hotel Dusk Room 215, Kirby: Canvas Curse, Lunar Knights, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Picross DS, Tetris DS, Wario Ware Touched!, Yoshi's Island DS.

Super Princess Peach was... serviceable. It's a perfectly decent game, but nothing particularly special.

Also, I strongly recommend against Super Mario 64 DS. No analog stick = epic fail.
