Forums - Website Topics - New site design

from the first few pages of this thread people seem to really like the new site (have not read it all), it seems I am going to be in the minority, I absolutely detest the new design, the old site was nasty and the flash regularly broke in my browser but at least everything was easy to get at and right there on the page I first open. With the new design I am finding myself not even wanting to come to the site, everything is all over the place and I really dislike the hub that you are forced to go through, as another poster said please let us at least bookmark the vgchartz.com without going through the hub.

I must agree with this, I've come to the website much less after seeing and using the new design for a short while.  I really dislike it, it has broken old threads that I use for reference, it's more of a task to navigate the site (be it forums or user profiles).  However the new post system is nice and responsive so far, so kudos for that.

Could we not have atleast the choice of seeing the forums in their old format?

One of the good things from the update, is that after 3 years, I am finally able to change my password.

The background is an ad...

Any chance of the weekly chart comments section coming back? :(

They were removed as they generally detracted from things and turned into pointless attacks on each other etc. We want the VGChartz site to put over a professional, industry-based image.

At the risk of becoming boring;)

Other than that I really like gamrfeed. It's a big upgrade to the old news section. Two thumbs up:)

The forum, which is the most important area of vgchartz IMO, however, is sadly broken. There's so much wrong with it I don't even know where to start, and most of the time now I just can't be bothered going there. I would say that the biggest problem with the forum now is that it comes off as one long wall of text. So, sadly, four thumbs down there:(

And yes, I have four thumbs.

Wow! I understand the guy was a bit harsh but what an arrogant response from the CEO!

Hey Brett,  This site is really going backwards in terms of usability.  The best design was the original, with no design, basically.  You guys seem to live in another planet and all critics seem to be not listened to.

You show so little knowledge about this subject that it hurts.  You seem to think it is a question of taste and it is not. Do yourself a favor and read a few books on usability "don't make me think" is a good starting poit.

would you dare to design a car engine without any training?

What makes you think that no education is needed to design websites?
