Hopefully Zelda Wii takes the route that Wind Waker took. Not in the sense of it looking the same as wind waker, but being as aware of its console limitations and focusing more on art style rather than photo realistic graphics.

Of course you did. I like your sig!
Also, I think Zelda Wii probably would have looked exactly the same if MH3 was not made. Either way they are going to try and make it the best it can be. I don't think MH3 would affect it that much. |
I feel as if they're talking about the environments, which is the main thing MH3 has on Twilight Princess, while MH3 looks like it has highly detailed beautiful landscapes, Twilight Princess was less so, like you didn't look off into the distance and see a mountain and go man that looks like a real mountain range, or at the top of a cliff at night and see a shooting star, which are the nice touches put into MH3 which would make TP even better looking.

The best looking games always do that, look at Uncharted 2, its not photo realistic, its realism with artistic flare to it and made it one of the best looking games on the PS3 if not the best looking period.

EDIT: But remember we just don't know what direction Zelda Wii is going in, cell shades, normal, some new style...who knows, we'll know in 2.33434 weeks though. |
Link to the scan Darth is refering to :)
I really love how the girl's hair looks! i HONESTLY can't 100% tell if that first shot (with her holding out her hand) is from a GC cutscene or in game engine (probably due to the scan being a bit blurry) :p
and the art in this game... :D

I don't think its a CGI cut scene
Its a scan so everythings grainy, imagine how it will look in motion!!
The girls very pretty, love the character designs for the hero-heroine
I am really interested to know more about that tiger though!

I wouldn't be surprised either, though Zelda WOULD have to beat Super Mario Galaxy 2, is that possible? SMG2 is just SO good looking, not just from a technical point of view, but that art is really SUPER!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR E3!!!!!!!!! >_<
hell Zelda Wii could like a N64 game and id be happy, I just want a new Zelda on consoles

:D I agree, Uncharted 2 has an amazing art direction. Great looking games with photo realistic graphics only last one generation, when the next comes around the older will look dated; which is why art style is so important. I do feel that uncharted 2 will remain as an artistic achievement for a very long time, unlike Call of Duty games that will get lost in the past.
Also... by looking at the Zelda Wii concept art that was given out at last years E3, I do get a strong 'pastel style' vibe from it ^_^ (just a thought) .
I own both Zelda TP and MonsterHunter:Tri. So I have seen the visuals in both and played both for along time. I've got to say MHT has superior visuals to TP. Seriously how can anybody say TP has superior graphics at best the visuals could be considered par. But its my strong opinion that MHT has superior visuals.
That being said I think Nintendo shooting to beat Tri's visuals makes me even more giddy for Zelda Wii. The Wii has more power then the GameCube so I would love to see a Nintendo title that used the full capabilities of the Wii. But then again I loved WindWaker so Zelda being photorealistic isn't as important to me as gameplay.
In the end I think Iwata aiming to compete visually with the best third party visuals is very smart and only good news for the consumer!
