1.  Which will sell more in its first 12 months, SMG or SMG2?

- The original Super Mario Galaxy sold 6.76 in its first year.

2.  Which will sell more in the next 12 months, NSMB Wii or Galaxy 2? (May/June 2010 - May/June 2011)

I've already bet with Joelcool7 and I think NSMB Wii will sell more in the next 12 months, Joelcool7 thinks Galaxy 2 will. We haven't had a bet on SMG v SMG2. I think I'd give it to the original SMG if I had to bet/predict.

So what do you think? Predict or bet away.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii has already far outsold Super Mario Galaxy, so how do you get "SMG > SMG2 and SMG2 > NSMBWii"?

I put down NSMBWii > SMG2 > SMG; I think the second one is better and might get some of the NSMBW crowd, so it'll beat the original, but more people prefer the older 2D Marios, it it won't beat NSMBW.

Mario Kart sold 7.7mil in 2009 alone, so I expect around that much for the next 12 months of NSMB Wii. Your Mario Kart or Wii Fit comparisons (week 27-79) don't work, because it includes their first holiday period (minus Wii Fit in Japan), which NSMB Wii already saw in its first 2 months.

Since it took over a year for the first SMG to reach 7 million, and I see SMG2 selling less than the first:

NSMB Wii > SMG > SMG2.

Hoping that Vgchartz will have numbers for SMG2 US first day.

Yeah, the comparisons are flawed because of holidays but I thought I'd throw them in there anyway.

17-4 for Galaxy 2 outselling the original, interesting.

NSMBWii has much more mass appeal.  I think it will continue to sell faster than SMG2, although it having launch sales might make it a close race with all those people buying it on day 1.
