Whatever you do dont buy an ASUS. They make Great motherboards but ive had nothing but problems with my G71 i bought from them back in september. They customer support has been terrible and ive had to send it in 4 times so far for different repairs. Tons of issues so i would go with a Toshiba if you want bang for your buck

Look into the Toshiba Satelite range, that's what I have. I think my one was $1500 Australian and it poos all over the Crysis system specs and will easily play the games you mentioned.

No ones perfect^^

I've had great support from them..and sometimes...that ''infamous'' Dell support that is dreaded....nothing like some guy in india telling you ''sir..can you plz speak english''.

I've gone thru compaqs/dells/alienwares/asus/gateway*shudders* more or less sometimes things are a pain ...sometimes not.

here is a basis to start off with for searching a shiba lappy

Buying a lappy takes alot of researching^^  always have a back up choice aswell.

There is a difference between not being "perfect" and utter shit customer support. Every single time ive called In ASUS has tried to slight me and blame me for problems that are the result of poor manufacturing. While i highly recommend their Motherboards their laptops build quality (especially their high end ones) is questionable at best. However the choice is his and i was just giving my personal experiences.

O WOW!!! Just dropped $100 bucks since last night. Should I buy this now? Not sure if it's going to jump back up? I checked some other sites and they are anywhere between $100 to $200 more.

It is on sale today for $200.00 I called J&R Music and Computre directly and talked to this guy named Luis. I told him that i have an amazon credit card and that if I order it from Amazon usiny my credit card and NOT going through him I would earn about $40 bucks in Amazon credit. So he took $40.00 off the final price.

this is what I paid :D

$1,262.95 - total. No tax and shipping was $2.95

So hopeing this laptop will last me while :)

Yup that lappy will last a good while..just keep it clean and make sure to not block the vents!

It's at such a good price too.

They said they have the item under review for some reason. They say that customers are complaining about something but I can't say what.

Tease.

Nice computer but u could have gotten more bang for your buck by buying an ASUS G73 with a 17.3" Screen, a Core I7 720 and an ATI Mobility 5870 from best buy for $1200 USD. While i have to take it back for some manufacturer defects it was still an INSANELY Unbeatable price.

I am getting myself the Sony F series, hopefully soon, you can fiddle with it on Sony style, but the main things are:

Intel® Core™ i7-820QM processor (1.73GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 3.06GHz

16.4" VAIO Display (1600x900) with NVIDIA® GeForce® 310M GPU (512MB VRAM)

{though the one that I am getting has a 330M, but this doesn't appear to be avaliable in the US}

All for just under $1,500
