When the first Kane and Lynch launched they had very close ties with Gamespot. Anyways, the first game apparently sucked and the reviewer gave it a bad score. This made the makers mad and gamespot fired the reviewer and some people quit. I think that is what happened if I remember correctly.

Yeah hes on that weekly panel show quite frequently and pachter is on there too. I can't recall the name though. Generally hes a pretty uninteresting guy and I would take pachter any day of the week over him. Hes just famous because of the controversy, not because he actually says anything interesting or insightful whereas pachter, believe it or not does offer useful information about the corporate side even if his non financial predictions can suck sometimes.

i absolutely love gamespot i think they give very fair reviews and they have some of the smartest minds in their field , i realize what happened with gertzman but dont think for a second sites like ign , gameinformer , edge, gametrailers etc dont get money thrown their way or "gifts" to make the game seem a little more pleasing than it is and the first kane and lynch did not deserve the score gertzman gave.

gamespot gave demons souls GOTY thats enough for me to understand exactly how they feel about certain games , cause that was my GOTY as well in 2009 , also while everyone was giving uncharted 2 and mass effect 2 perfect scores gamespot was one of the few that didnt score either of them perfectly and they rarely give out perfect scores all those sites that throw out 10/10 like cake are just sellouts way more than gamespot has ever been.

gamespot still one the best around for real reviews and they have an awesome group of guys nuff said

actually no hes very very rarely on bonus round, yes he is a gueat on the recent one they filmed which is in a 4 part once a week thing but i think ive only seen him once before and that was ages ago, giantbomb is also one of the best sites around , also everyone at giantbomb used to work for gamespot and even shane satterfield from gametrailers used to work at gamespot.

if you would actually rather listen to pachter over someone like gertzman than i dont think you listen to many podcasts , cause they are leaps more interesting than pachter

just listen to a few episodes of giantbombcast ryan davis and gertzman are just to funny brad and vinny are awesome to , hands down best podcast ever followed closely by the hotspot
