Whoa, Wii ahead of PS3 in this one, well regardless of who's right Wii had a good rise last week



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Well I knew after last week this would happen, but I didn't expect it to be at those numbers. Guess I really didn't take into account increases for PS3 with Winning Eleven 2008, nor holiday and shipment increases for Wii.

But before all of this happened I had expected PS3 to outsell Wii for 4-5 weeks in Japan once the 40gb hit. Guess Japan is really full of surprises.

If he truly believes Media Create is more accurate he should endorse the number regardless of the ps3 sales. I wonder if he will, if not then I'll have to believe that he picks numbers that better represent the ps3.

It seems that most likely, the 360 is outselling the PS3 worldwide by a decent (but not huge) margin.

In Japan, the PS3 should really do better than the Wii right now, after so many price cuts and important software being launched. If Wii Fit catches on, the PS3 will never smell the Wii near it again.
