Forums - Gaming - Wada clarifies Versus XIII multiplat talk

Do some people even realize this?

Only a few months ago when rumors said Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell could go multiplat and x360 fanboys would defend the exclusives and now when Versus XIII is the same position, and when Sony fans are expressing disappointment, other people just say shit like "Sony fanboys are the worst, blah blah blah"

Oh so when people discuss X360 exclusives going multiplat, fanboys say it makes no sense, etc and when PS3 exclusives going multiplat are discussed, it makes sense to put it on the X360, etc. Kinda sad really.

+1 critical hit.

OT:

1.Wada didn't clarify jack shit he just re worded his statement.

2.Funny how the thread about "ff13vs comming to 360" got over 200 post then this thread "ff13vs comming to 360 clarified" barely got 50 post, clearly proves whose the worst fans around here same thing with "ps3 finally making profit"(less than 40 post) and "ps3 lost x ammount of money"(over 200 post).

3.PPL should really quit beliving in S-E and wada's exclusive BS from now on because it's so crystal clear that Wada will do every thing for $$ the only way you'll have a exclusive is if Sony SLAPS bejamins on Wada's face and buy exclusive contract(e.g SO4 with MS).

I actually think the clarifying the statement is throwing more fuel to the fire. He could of ended all speculation by saying it's a PS3 exclusive but he didn't. Why would a PS3 exclusive from the beginning still need to be finalized.

Wada doesn't matter... Nomura is the guy for decide the multiplatform FFvXIII.

O_o

You don't realize how a business works, do you?

Wada is the CEO of the company. That means can tell Nomura to do what he wants, or he'll find someone else who will.

Multiplatform was pretty much a given, though I really want to see gameplay, its been almost 4 years since the announcement....

That is true, but I'm going to speculate a little bit on this matter. I said it before on other threads that Nomura is much like Kojima for example. I say that because they are top dogs when being a leader and directing a game. So, I believe they have a say in it. If you know what I mean.

More people can play the games? If you want to play FFV13 buy a PS3, end of story.

Why buy a PS3 for the game if it is announced for X360 if that is the system you own?

I own all current systems and I buy my multi games on X360 because I prefer the controller, achievements, online fuctionalities & a few other minor things more than I do the PS3. I do this every generation. My preferred console of choice that gen is always the one I will buy a multi game for.

BTW More people being able to enjoy the game the better. The way I C it any game not published by the BIG THREE should be on the other systems.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

So I'm guessing you'd be cool with Mass Effect 2, SC: Conviction, and ALAN WAKE all coming to PS3, yes?

Honestly, I'd be more surprised if Conviction at least didn't hit PS3 at some point.  Alan Wake and the Mass Effect games are obviously tied up in 1st party contracts though, don't see why those should really be brought up?

Am I reading this wrong or did he just say the exact same thing, just worded differently?

thats whats I was thinking too.

however one thing does semi-land in PS3's favour, and that could be the timing in FFvXIII's development cycle.

If they can't fit FFvXIII onto one 360 disk, the'd have to make story and possibly even world changes that they otherwise might not have had to do if the game was on one disk.

bear with me; I'm not trolling here but take this a a (admittedly rather poor) example.

say FFvXIII is in final stages of development. they've got lot much left to do story wise, they're just making side-quests and mini games before testing and final polish.

Then they find out that now the game will be ported to 360.

now they have a choice. the game takes about 20GB on PS3 - do they chop assets, compress things like textures and FMV to get it to one 7GB DVD or do they split the game into 3 disks and save as much of the assets intact as possible?

If it's on multiple disks, where can they split the game in a way that makes sense from a story flow and events perspective? how do they split FMV so that one disk is not overwhelmed with it? i.e. what changes will need to be made to the flow of the game, and how will those changes impact on the project in the PS3 version?

Without adding even more of a delay to the project from that persective, there is also the matter of the coding for the second platform (crystaltools helps here though as does FFXIII experience)

If the cycle is near completion and SE worried about needing quick money (cashflow), there is little chance the 360 will get an immediate port, but could get a delayed one quite easily

with that in mind there are several factors which make me think that the port to 360 is going to happen

1 extra sales

2 KH BBS is getting released this year - so the strain on the collective pocket of SE shouldn't be unbearable

3 no firm release date for FFvXIII set

4 very little news regarding what stage of development FFvXIII is in

I guess we'll find out soon enough!

You make it sound like PS3 is the only console that lost exclusives.....
