You could be right, anything is possible, but when you have the 2 highest selling Franchises (GTA, Gran Turismo) of last generation coming out on the undisputed winning brand of the last gen, with a then competitive price, I find this hard to believe.

Also I don't understand this love for SSBB. I think it was a great game on the cube, but it does nothing speacial on the Wii. Their are plenty of games that are out or are coming out that actually use the Wii Mote that are way better. It just makes no sense to me that people are so hyped about a game on the Wii that is said to be unplayable with the Wii Mote when it is the only reason for the Wii.

Can we give out bans for stupid posts please? This one would sure receive one...

First thing: HD consoles are not ahead of the Wii and there is no prove that this will happen.

Remember transition from SNES to N64? Mario was in its own league and franchises like Zelda, Donkey Kong and Mario Kart slammed the concurrence. Did it matter? Not much, these games kept selling well, but the N64 still had no chance against the PS2.
And a competitive price is 250 $ and below, I'm sure PS3 will still cost more when GTA4 arrives.

That sentence about SSBB almost makes me angry, really. The Wii is a console after all, it does not matter if you use the Wiimote or not, games can be great. Why should a game that was great last gen be bad this gen only because it does not use motion control? That's like saying all PS3 and 360 games are bad just because they are not on the Wii!


The N64 wasn't up against the PS2, it was up against the PS1. And besides, the N64 cost alot less than the PS1 did and still had no chance, so price doesn't always constitute success. 

The transition from PS1 to PS2 was smooth, and franchises that fared well on the PS1 did just as well on the PS2, so theres no reason to believe this isnt going to be the case when GTA launches on the 360/PS3.

20 million is not going to happen people, noone knows much about the game yet, from what I read the city is smaller and there's no aircraft whatsoever, it killed my interest, at least for now.

Poor me. I was thinking that PS3 version would outsell Xbox360 in the long run. I must be totally crazy I guess.

You're right, that was a typo with the PS2, I wanted to write PS1.

Of course price doesn't always constitute success, but a higher price doesn't help either I'd say. I did not bring up that argument, I just answered to KBG's statement.

so in other words, you're predicting maximum lifetime worldwide sales of 12 million for the PS3 and 18 million for the Xbox360 (based of Super Mario Bros attach rate)

Although I suppose you might have means "attach rate of an unbundled game" which would be 24 million for the PS3 and 36 million for the Xbox360 (Based off Halo 2).

You heard it here first folks! leo-j predicts Xbox360 to outsell PS3, 36 million to 24 million!

no one is going to buy it for the PS3, hardcore gamers know the 360 is the only way to go now basically. And with extra content only on the 360 version, the Ps3 has lost this one big time.
