Forums - General - ROBIN HOOD....Gladiator in a English setting

Finally a decent Robin Hood adaption. Not a gimmick, american accent kind of robin hero. Hopefull the storyline is not gonna be a drag.

Anyone else excited for this film?

if it's true then I'm sold

Please everyone go and see it. We need Robin Hood to be a success so that more historical epics will be made.

And Ridley Scott is probably my favorite director. 1492, Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven - wow!

It was good, but it was Robin Hood Zero, he did far too little bow and arrowing for my liking

i lol'd when i saw the trailer. Don't you just love those gritty remakes?

it does look pretty good.

I won't support liberal propaganda!!

No seriously though, what I saw so far looked pretty good. I'm not huge on seeing stuff in the theater so I'll prolly catch it on HBO or netflix or something....

The thing is, most historical epics turned out to be crap, Troy, Alexander (need i say more)..but hopefully RH is in the exceptions.

I agree Troy was bad and both Master & Commander and King Arthur were crap, but I think Alexander was okay or even good.

So you didn't like Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, 1492, Bravehart or 300? They're all fantastic movies in my opinion.

I think all of those were fantastic films, except for 1492 which I havent seen. As were Ben Hur, Passion of the Christ, Appocalypto..etc

Historical epics are okay, but they tend to get too documentary-like sometimes.

I prefer Fantasy Epics as they tends to be more action pack than Historical epics like LOTR trilogy, Avatar, StarWars, King Kong,300...etc
