yea, it does but it's being quite popular with the developer's to use this in generating lighting.
which is good. cut's out one more thing the GPU has to do. thus it's great for the overall performance of the PS3

Yeah, between this and the SPU AA implementation used by Sony Santa Monica, it seems developers are able to offload quite a few hefty processes to Cell, freeing up the RSX to do other things.
I know Guerrilla Games heavily used the Cell for lighting in Killzone 2, and that game still has the best lighting seen on ps3 yet, imo.
That's pretty awesome too bad third party developers don't know how to use the SPUs', oh well more power for Sony Devs.

Uh... Bizarre Creations is a third party developer. They're owned by Activision and used to make PGR for Microsoft before being bought.
Third parties are slowly coming around.
Square-Enix did the best lightning on PS3!
