Forums - Sales - Has the tide official turned? 7 Blue 3 Red, No Green in Software chart :O

One wave doesn't make a tide.

Everyone's got their ups and downs, a low 360 week will be compensated by a low PS3 and Wii week eventually.

Look Xbox was doomed before - http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly.php?date=39929

And Im sure it will be doomed again in a few months...

Seriously though...Xbox brand is a money making product for 2 years now. They are set to do 1 billion in profit for the division this year. What more do you want?

Sony is moving software for sure...now lets see if this makes them any profit. Hopefully it does because if not, Sony really needs to re-evaluate their business model. You just cant outsell the competition with hardware and software and lose money...

If we're talking about profitability, Microsoft is still billions in the red since entering the industry, and Sony isn't (I'd fine the spreadsheet if I could; it was posted recently). And just because Microsoft posts decent profitability figures doesn't mean there's no need for worry. They've only got one console, and it's going below 100k a week. At least Sony has some slight PS2 and PSP support when PS3 sales turn sour.

I dont know whats more depressing...Sony depending on PSP and PS2 for profits in 2010 or Microsoft trying to recoup their 2001-2007 losses.

Howmuch in he black is the Sony Playstation division since it started if you dont mind me asking?

Hard tobe exact, especially now the PS division is combined with other divisions.... if you add the loss they made this year ($893 million) to this: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=57802%29. then they are still in the black about $750million.

I think it is the first time i have seen that the top 10 doesnot have a single Green game in it.. :O

Also recently Gamasutra analysis of First Quarter of the US only said that PS3 has sold 26% games to X360 of 25.6%.. although its equivalent but the PS3 base is still half of X360.

X360 is still selling more per week in US than PS3 but still PS3 software is doing amazing sales.

So finally some PS3s are getting used for playing games than watching Blu Rays. :P

PS3 base is not half of 360 in the USA. It's currently exactly 61.6%.

Sony lost $50 billion Yen or roughly $540 million USD from the PS3. So $540 million is the PS3 contribution to the $893 million USD loss in the games division.

Yeah but Ms makes a lot of profit. The Xbox brand is just a toy to ms and only worth 3% of their assets.

I don't think it means anything, in the coming month with £DDGH, Alan Wake, Lost Planet, Red Dead Redemption, Split/Second, Mod Nation Racers, Blur and Prince of Persia, the top 20 is going to be very green/red, does this mean Wii is going down the drown?! no lol
