Suprised PS3 is closer to 360 as we thought.

Its actually 40.2m / 70.93m / 35.73m between X360 / Wii / PS3.

I have an article coming about it. But the figures are shipped - they call it sold because it is the figure bought by retailers. Don't confuse everybody.

At least this tells us how much unsold stock is sitting at retailers. If these figures are correct in correlation of the Sold graph on the front page, the PS3 has the most unsold consoles.

With that 4.47 million gap between the PS3 and XBox 360 at the end of March 2010, don't you agree the XBox 360 was more in stock considering the PS3 shortages in Europe and North America at the time?

It seems retailers now are much better stocked with PS3s again, now it's 1 and a half months later and I think that gap has reduced further greatly meanwhile.

PS3 vs 360 sales

I think the most interesting fact for software developers in these figures is that despite this gap, PS3 owners bought well more software than XBox 360 owners.

I thought something was up for quite a while, but it's usually hard to discuss things here on VGChartz without the usual suspects trying to ruin interesting topics.

Well one reason migh be that you can pirate games for the 360.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Doesn't change the fact more sales = more profit for a publisher. Not that this would be significant enough to lead to any exclusives, but maybe publishers would be more willing to give PS3 extra content in hopes that gamers will buy the PS3 version instead of pirating the 360 version. Prob wont matter in 98% of cases regardless.

what it tells us is ps3 is undertracked.

OMG, wii is 5 million away from 50% marketshare, it will never make it now.
