Forums - Sony - Was God of War 3 not successful?

I love the game and i believe it is worth the full $60 price. However now gamestop has the game for $35 new and $30 used. The only reason to believe that they are selling it for cheap is because they overstocked it and probably expected more sales. Was god of war 3 not succeesful?

no it sold more than expected they probably already made a profit so have therefore reduced the cost for everyone else, it has taken since january to get a WKC price cut (and i don't know if it's permanent;))

it's the future of handheld

PS VITA = LIFE

The official Vita thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=130023&page=1

It's sold 2.24 Million units within 7 weeks.

Doing well so far IMO.

We will see where it ends up though...

I think this was a sale. FFXIII had a similar thing at Kmart for 1 week. But you can argue that as well I guess if your heart desires

considering god of war 2 reach close to 3 and a half million and gow 3 has beaten it every week since launch. its prob a huge sucses

LBP was at £15 on amazon a few weeks after its launch in UK

was it not successful?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The problem with the game its the lenght, once you finish it you don't have a lot of incentive to play it again, and again. The people take advantage that its still a hot item and use it as exchange money for new games.

That's the reason its so cheap right now. But the game is a success.

Well, if success is profit... they made success.
But it's strange, this gen changed - for me - the definition of success.
For example... if God Of War is a "oh my god, what a big game" kind of big game, it's strange for it to sell half of a professor layton series... or a third of a cooking mama series, or a tenth of a brain age series...

So, it was successful, but nothing outside the ordinary success.

holy shit 35 bucks? thats a STEAL everyone should buy it now!
