Girl, eight, 'raped by boys aged ten'

The girl had been playing with her younger sister when she was taken to a block of flats and a field by the boys and attacked, it was alleged.

When the younger girl went home without her sister, the mother went looking for her and found her with the boys, said Rosina Cottage, prosecuting.

The boys, now aged 11 and ten, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, deny two charges each of rape and two charges each of attempted rape of a child under 13, in October, last year.

The offences were alleged to have happened in Hayes, west London, near to where all the children - who knew each other - lived.

The boys, who are amongst the youngest defendants ever to be charged with rape, sat next to their mothers in court.

What is wrong with modern day society? Boys this ahe shouldn't no what sex is never mind desire it, money needs to be pumped into education systems to eradicate these massive issues.

I am not so sure pumping money into the education system is going to stop any of this type of stuff. However, if there is a good way to make parents you know actually parent I would be all for that.

That's hard to believe. I wouldn't think most ten year old boys even capable of the act, let alone the desire to act.

And why are the parents of these girls allowing them to play outside unattended in the first place?

1. I don't believe it. No way 10 year olds would be capable of this. They might have assaulted her or something but I doubt it was rape.

2. They're 10 years old, the blame should be mostly on the parents. How could you let your kids do something like that (if its true).

3. I doubt those 10 year olds had even hit puberty yet so how could they possibly rape someone.

Hah, that's incrediably naive.

I'm pretty sure kids are masturbating at that age and probably watching porn on the interweb. We just have to make examples of them and ruin their lives.

1. Like I said, kids are beating off and watching porn at 10. They are also stronger than girls. They can definitely commit rape.

2. How do you explain to your kids not to rape little girls? Sometimes you just have to accept some kids and adults are rotten and don't belong in our society.

You don't need to hit puberty to get an erection either.

Wow.. I don't know what should be done about this. I don't think the boy understood that what he did was wrong. We need sex education at an earlier age.. maybe that would prevent this sort of thing.

There should be a law that states that if you want a child, you must first go to a school where they teach you proper training to taking care of your child. Parents gives a rat ass on what their kids do nowadays.

@Damkira - I don't think more sex ed would help.

I think better parenting, and more accountability to parents in their community would help. If a kid does something dumb like this, I must ask if their parents knew where they were during this, and why they were unsupervised.
