We're at 1.2million for this week, and one region hasn't even been counted yet!! Imagine sales are 1.2m for a month. That's like 5 million, and this is just NOVEMBER. Sales will no doubt ramp up yet further in December, so I wouldn't say it's unrealistic to expect an additional 10million DSs sold by the end of the year!

Christmas really is heaven for commercialism!

It will be like always. The DS is the hottest selling piece of gaming hardware. At this rate, It will outsell the PS1 and 2 in a year or two.

last year the DS sold 8 million over the last 9 weeks of 2006 (including week after christmas) 5 million were in December, 3 in November.

This year it has actually not done as well so far, 2.9 million will be (after Japan) it's November total....which is the first 4 of the 9 weeks so don't complain November isn't finished.

edit...actually, another look at last year shows a total of 7.7 million for the last 9 weeks (ending the 30th) and it was split with 3.1 million in the first 4 of those weeks. And 4.6 million in the final 5 weeks.

This extraordinary figures postpone Nintendos next handheld at least until late 2012.

Nintendo DS is most likely going to surpass PS1 numbers in the coming months. I see that happening 8)

^ in the coming months?.....DS should end this year below 65 million (my guess is 61-62) by the end of 2008 it should be, assuming the rate keeps up, just passing 90 million.

I think it will be summer 2009 when DS passes PS1 (which was about 104 million right?)

The DS is one crazy platform that's for sure!! My prediction for all consoles, especially the DS is gonna look very horrible. As you can see, I underestimated EVERYTHING!!!

The DS won't pass the PS1 and PS2 until sometime in 2009 maybe 2010 to pass the PS2... so it'll happen, it's just a matter of time I guess. American sales need to pick up a bit more to make it happen sooner. Why does the DS sell the least in the states?
