The console wars have been here and always will be. It came to a major front when Microsoft entered the fray and we had 3 major consoles backed by three major recognizable companies with multi-million dollar ad campaigns. And as much as we can click a radio button on a poll or swear our allegiance against allegiances, most of us still have our consoles of choice.

I think it would be better if people just stopped focusing on the consoles and started focusing on the games. Even if that meant we had a whole lot of arguments of 'MGS 4 is better than Mario Galaxy!' then so be it. At least we're talking about something of context and not just idiots smashing heads about slogans and crunching console specs.

And before you go crazy, no that isn't a threat, it's more or less stating common sense.

More or less that is what I'd like to see happen too, not that MGS4 is better than SMG cause of the console it's on but the merrits of both games AS games and not some rubbish, you know making intelligent discussion.

I know there will always be and us vs them metality, it gets worse when gaming changes as a whole, but I think its about time for things to ease off again, having a few people on all sides of the "Warz" isn't a problem its when it becomes the normal guys just getting pissed that everyone else does it and so they join in making things more hostile, that's when everyone needs to cool their jets and that's kinda how things have gone.

Before I go crazy?  You need to quit causing problems and leave if you cant quit it, you have nothing positive to contribute.

I say nay this console war is the key to the revival of the SEGA empire.

A moderator telling people to follow the rules?!?! How dare he! Someone go run quick and get Naz! He will want to put a stop to this immediately. We can't have people doing what is expected of them. The whole forum could go to crap.

Sega vs Nintendo was the original console war.  Reviving Sega won't solve anything.  There will always be people who want to jump behind a console and hate everything about another console.  There's STILL people who think the Genesis/Saturn/Dreamcast were the best consoles of their time simply because they were 'Sega'.

Frankly, any generation should be about the games and not the console.
