Others are meh, E3 might help
And doesn't wii and xbox both have a bunch of bundles out now for cheap prices? Those sales are disappointing if that's the case

Awe well, whether it's 20-30% down in Aug/Sept for PS3, the total yr sales will still be higher in favor of PS3 over 360...

I'm way more interested to see whether PS3 2010 will be greater than PS3 2009 or not. I think it will be, but not by much (unless there is another price cut or Move is advertised massively). I expect PS3 to beat 360 this year, reasonably comfortably.

yes me too... and thats what this chart is about really. 

Well, I think it will be, but (as I said) it will be close. I think that the gains made up in the first 8 months should be enough to compensate for the lower final 4 months (assuming that Sept-Dec 2010 is higher than the same period in 2007 and 2008, which I believe it will be). I think September will be massively down (I know, I'm taking a huge risk saying something like that), but I think that by November, the gap between 2009 and 2010 will be less severe, which should see PS3 2010 through. I'm also assuming GT5 will launch and push a decent number of consoles (maybe not week 1, but throughout the period between launch and Christmas).

I agree with pretty much everything you say there.

An Irish person and an English person agreeing....hmmm, this is what an awkward silence feels like.

On an only very-slightly related note: Do you happen to know the name (or link) of a topic that was up a few months ago. It showed the sales breakdown of consoles by SKU. It had the Arcade and Elite at around 50:50, PS3 120gb and 250gb at 5:1 or so, and the PSP and PSP Go at like...20:1 or something. It would be useful for an article I'm writing, to actually have somewhere to point to as a source for my figures. If so, thanks.
