i gve mgs4 8/10. ftr the magnifcent mgs3 it ws disappointing to see kojima go bck to a stry tht dusn't make sense, is full of loopholes & contrdictory basically like MGS2. I hpe peace walker is better.

7.5

The true successor of MGS2, only better (obviously). It's a good game, but it's just ridiculous at times and abandoned a lot of good things from 3 - especially the espionage/cold war/romantic setting. It's time to fix the A.I. too, Kojima.

Curious fact: along with uncharted and flower, the only game I played on the PS3!

6.5/10

Disappointing on so many levels. Pretty messed up story, only 2 people to call on the codec, those 4 bosses didn't really have much to do with story, Naomi (I really hated her), for some reason i didn't like Snake being old, Also hated what they did to Raiden. But i loved the gameplay, cutscenes, music were really good. Unlike other MGS games which i love going through, i have only finished this one twice.

This definintely isn't the best MGS game, that's MGS 3.

4/5, or on a more popular scale, 8/10.

Too action-centric, music was worse, story was a mess compared to previous games. Still, a good game, just far from what it should've been.

8.5 out of 10. I liked MGS2 story more as it was convoluted but was cool, But it was more actiony... although many would argue the mechanics are better than MGS2 (I enjoyed MGS2) kinda like how people enjoy the 2D mario still. The story suffered from plot holes atleast for me that made it kinda feel like heavy rain (which I still enjoyed).

The story made sense. However he wouldn't kill off anyone.

That said, I still think it's better than all but 4 games this generation, And is the Better than MGS3 and worse than MGS, MGS2 imo

7/10.

Probably my pick for worst in the series, but still a good game. Lack of cohesion in the game's environments hurt the experience somewhat, and fun boss fights are partially mitigated by uninteresting characters and the longest codec (sorta) conversations in the history of the franchise.

10/10....still lovin it....

10/10, the only game in which I was emotionaly involved... ever.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

8/10.... almost the worst MGS out of the bunch but the cinematics kept it better than part two for me. MGS4 reminds me exactly why Kojima had to go back to MGS3 to get the job done.

5/10

The game was shockingly mediocre. The story made absolutely no sense, the charm of MGS3 was lost. For a story driven game to have plot holes & contradictions, bad editing, weak script is unacceptable. The problem with MGS4 is it focuses on the story too much, less on the gameplay which is actually pretty fun, but whats the point if you can't play much. And the story itself is weak, so the games focus is pointless. As I re-examined the game after playing it once it was clear what went wrong, even Kojima said he wasn't satisfied with the product.
