Wait... You can play PAL (and Japan) games on an NA Wii with Homebrew? Maybe I will pick up a black Wii, slap Homebrew on it and order Another Code R, Disaster:DoC and some other PAL games.

That's one of the best parts of homebrew
An important note to you all before you dive into the world of Homebrew. Use it responsibly and carefully. There is a small chance of bricking your Wii if you aren't careful.

This is why I'm scared of modding my Wii. Being able to play Another Code R on a NTSC-U console would be nice. But honestly I'd rather not risk messing with my Wii. I don't want to play the game that badly. I'm quite comfortable with DS and PS2 homebrew but it seems like it's a lot easier to brick a Wii. Especially if you have a recent model console (like myself) and run the latest firmware (which I do. Because I want to be able to play online).
Ideally, Nintendo and Microsoft should abandon region-locking (gives us one less reason to mod). Especially for games that aren't released in your region. For eg. What's the point of region-locking a PAL Another Code R if it's not released in North America? It's not like importing the PAL version steals any sales from the NTSC-U version seeing as how a NTSC-U version doesn't even exist! On the Xbox 360 they give publishers the option to choose to region-lock their games or not. So some 360 games are region-free (I own two region-free Japan-exclusive shmups). But every single Wii game is region-locked. Madness.
