I think that most serious players have already got the collection before GoW3 release via import. So the others sales will be rather small compared to NA.

so you expect a remake game to sell 3 mil on a console that currently has sold approx. in the mid 30 millions when the original sold 4mil and the second part sold 3.4mil on a WAYYY more successful console.

let's look at the gow fanbase..remove those who don't have a ps3, remove those who wouldn't buy the same games again. remove those who bought/will buy the trilogy, seing how europe got both around the same time, that'll def. hurt the collection's sales. remove the europeans who cared enough to import the collection (adding to the current sales #'s).

anyway, i don't see how anyone's being negative, theyre being realistic. and in fact, i saw several positive posts that it'll even hit 2 mil which i believe it can do. The most positive thing to get out of this is that all the other devs interested in possibly making collections were looking to gow to see what success it was going to have. it was a huge success, even once it hits 1mil. it means the fans are interested in these collections. what this means to me is expect announcements about ico/shadow of the colossus ( i'm so happy) and ratchet/ jak (can't wait for the day)

lol read the bolded red letters. I didn't realized hope was me saying this game will sell 3MILLION! LMFAO! I'm also sorry I couldn't tell that the PS2 was a "WAYYY more succesful console" cause I thought selling your system for a loss and 1/2 or so pace was the rebound plan. Oh wait did you notice how fast and well GoW3 sold on the Inferior PS3! Thought so, but anyway if your going to go against my hope with all these true facts then I should just give up.

Ohhh yeah two words like "HELL NO" I'm pretty sure is just plan ignorant when you can't even find the words to say why this was stated. I'm sorry I can also tell sarcasm and metaphors apart from normal speech.

If the European version came out at the same time as the US version (no need for imports, no losing interest, christmas season) then maybe, but not now.

Maybe you live in virtual reality but if you wan't to prove me wrong then spend some time reading. It's all there if you look for it but only an ignorant person would assume that "no one' said this. What chance does LBP--a new, casual IP--have to reach 4-6 million? The ONLY way it'll hit 4-6 million is if it's bundled...and even then we won't know how successful it is because you get the game anyway.

IMO, 2 million tops.

I honestly thought LBP will reach 7 million, but what did I knew than... Soriku's post above is full of valid points that need to be taken into consideration if one is to make an correct estimate, he just didn't see the long lasting appeal of the cute sac_people, while I overestimated and under-examined.

 

OT: 2 mill maybe. Hope for 3.

so quoting "IMO, 2 million tops." is not at all a proof.

If anything, you quoted someone who sait it COULD reach 2M. (and notice how he responds to 6M sales predictions... which means he probably made his prediction lower to counteract it. (it's now at 3.3 so 2 is closer than 6M, unless your math is different of course)

 

 

LBP's flopp is only in comparison to the stratospheric hype the PS3ers on this site had for it...
