The fact that Nintendo failed to give any information is not an excuse.
more, we have to ask the question: "what have they got to hide about it's products and manufacturing techniques, that they wouldn't want to tell Green Peace?"
i would suggest that for a product such as the DS or Wii to be developed and sold at a profit points to some not entirely environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques...
Sorry to debunk the argument on power consumption - the Wii may have the lowest power consumption of all the next gen consules, but it's also sold far in excess of the other consoles, which means Nintendo products are collectively draining more energy than their counterparts (however, this is not a factor examined by the report).
Sony have been stung before in the past and have since cleaned up their act considerably.
MS have never cared about the environment, and so probably never will, what do they care? the operating system that was used to compile that report was probably Windows anyway!
Green Peace are a major international non-government organisation, one of the largest in the world. that means they are supported by public donations and subscriptions, and not by governments. that does not mean that they do not work with governments, because they do, they do work closely with UN organisations, but do not have to abide by their decisions and can lobby governments effectively.
The fact that they are so large shows that they have large scale public support, this report has already gone world wide, and has been reported on major news websites throughout the world. to dismiss Green Peace as a small, unemportant activist group is a falicy.
