That's what makes Sony great; they make their own great games so they don't need exclusivity deals.

Couldn't be further from the truth (not denying that Sony makes good games)

The reason all of us old gamers know exactly how the PS3 vs 360 battle will play out is because we've seen it before. The PS1 destroyed the N64 despite Nintendo having a vastly superior first party due to Sony having the capital and the daring to moneyhat big games. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but FFVIII was purchased in such a fashion

What he says is true of now, but not of the past.

The PS and PS2 were built on GREAT 3rd party exclusive/ timed exclusive support, with minimal 1st party support. The PS3... Not so much.

How many 3rd party exclusives (or timed) have Sony had this gen, when compared to 1st party games? The only notable ones i can think of are MGS4 and Heavy Rain...

Anyway... The underlined...

You think the 360 is going to "destroy" the PS3? Didn't the PS1 end up with over 100 Million units? Compared to the 33M of the 64?

Jinx... kind of.

By 3rd party, I'd assume you meant both developed and published by a 3rd party, so Sony had no direct influence, which means Heavy Rain is off the list.

This.  I would call Heavy Rain a second party IP.  Would that be right?

This is not happening, Activision will use Bungie's brandname as a cash cow by putting their game on as many systems as they can.....Activision won't let this opportunity go to waste.

I have only one thing to say to you OP..something you love saying to other people as we saw 1 week ago:

A little more time on this site will help you predict a lot better!

oh i didn't predict it.alot of difference between saying what Sony should do to improve their NA score and predicting Sony will do it.

And what are you  a protector of that other poster, did e bribe you and blackmail you or just a plea of please come fight for me Darth

so i would like to say it to you.

You would learn how to distinguish better after a little more time on this site

None of your post makes sense.

whats there to make sense?

just because you don't like it,it doesn't make sense to you?

I was just putting out a scenario in how Sony could help themselves in North America.

Look at kiefer's post.....in harsh words thats kinda what I'm trying to say. Your posts don't make sense a lot of the time and many times come accross as condescending and its hard to work out your motives.

Your OP point is compeltely different from what your talking about when quoting other people. Nothing is making sense here!

I find this whole "Bungie Situation" remarkably amusing because I have never thought that Bungie was a particularly impressive developer; and (having played all 3 Halo games) the success of the Halo series can be attributed in a large part to the attention Microsoft brought to the series. While it is likely that a multiplatform Halo would have sold as many (or more) copies if it was released for all platforms in the last generation, I highly doubt that it would have become the poster-child for console first person shooters without being exclusive to the XBox.

Eh, don't worry about it too much Darth. I've been here long enough to understand Solid_Snake4RD's motives for the most part, and the point here is pretty obvious. It's understandable because unfortunately some people are a little too tied to a toy, so they think "Well the 360 guyz were real mean when FFXIII went multi (and they were, don't get me wrong), so we getz to get back at them!". At some point, someone is going to have to step up and rise above the fanboy crap and just say "Eh, it's just a game". Solid_snake is not that guy.

Nonsense, Activision is all about building a huge userbase, then milking it with spin-off and sequels.

Will that actually happen with Bungie's new IP, as they own and control it not Activision?

Can I just clarify something too... there appear to be some confusion - particularly from sony fanboys across the internet. (not saying that about the OP)

1. ACTIVISION DID NOT BUY AND DO NOT OWN BUNGIE - STILL INDIE

2. MS DID NOT SELL BUNGIE TO ACTIVISION, MS DIDNT OWN BUNGIE

Bungie has merely seigned up to a publishing deal with activision. Which means Activision will now publish any NEW i.p. that Bungie develop on mulitple systems. Bungie will KEEP ownership of any new i.p. developed.

@xen  Activision cant 'milk' any new IP without the say so of Bungie.

It's hard to say what are the precise conditions for the Bungie/Acti contract. Activision probably wouldn't agree to it if they didn't expect huge benefits from it - and remember, they are not making games that don't have lots of potential for sequels.

I'm happy about Bungie going multi, but not with activision.

What would be the point? If they were to go ps3 exclusive then it'd make sense to just sign on with Sony directly. Less middlemen.

I doubt they would leave xbox eclusivity just to move to exclusivity on another platform. I doubt they'd risk attempting to move their xbox audience over to the playstation or risk creating a new audience there. No this deal with be for a multi-platform release. That way they get the xbox audience and everyone else aswell.

i am not saying the go exclusive fully,i am saying activision would try to push a product as big games and sony would want it for NA

alsoBugie directly linking to PS3 would make Bungie image evil in Bungie fans eyes,if they do it with Activision they can blame them for it too and that they were just pushing the game and they will come back to xbox after the first one

Nah 2nd party don't do only one game.

they could become 2nd or 1st party but for now they are third party.
