Ahhh nice to see this thead calming down in the past few pages and actually talking about the GAME and TRAILER for once...

Alan Wake is looking better with each passing second. Not my prefered genre in games, but the game is looking damn damn pretty. I'll be getting this no doubt, but REACH and GT5 are my priorities this year =)

Wow nice trailer. Really good graphics, can't wait to get this day one. Was one of the comments on the video, from ESPN.com LOL. IDK about GOTY (My GOTY is already reserved for Metroid: Other M :D ) but I'll agree with Selnor that it's better than the crap that RE and SH are putting out. Seriously can we get an old school RE game Capcom? Enough of that RE 5 garbage.

Umm, which part of the trailer is so mind-blowing? There are no Akira Yamaoka music, no life like characters like Heavy Rain, even Heather from SH3 looks like a real girl compare to this plastic Alan.

Well, may be the shooter part is good, anyway Xbox is good with shooting, this time in the dark. But it wont be a horror game with too much slow-mo Matrix all powerful shooting. Silent Hill makes people scared by giving you a stick and ask you to kill the monstrosity with it.

Um..am I missing something? you mentioned a review/comment by Gamespot in your post, saying it was included in the video. One by them isn't there (again, unless I'm missing something). The only commenter I recognized was IGN. I think this game is going to be pretty good. At one point, I thought this game was going to blow people away and get a ridiculously high metacritic score; but the more time goes on and the more footage I see, the more I think it's not going to be as good as I originally thought. This is how it was with SC:C-I thought for a while that game was going to be (and look) amazing and get crazy high reviews (especially bc of how long it was in production), but as time grew closer to its release, I lost that opinion; and I was right to lose it considering it's sub-par review scores. I still think AW is going to be a really good game, just not mind-blowingly good. Maybe I'll be wrong though. I'm excited to see the review scores pile in...

This game looks great but I don't see what's so special about that trailer. What was so mind-blowing about it when it showed nothing we haven't seen before. Maybe your just much more excited about this game then everyone else.

It's obvious that there is much trolling going on in this thread... (I haven't read all the comments, too much is going on here^^)

However, if it's GOTY for you selnor it's ok. But in fact it doesn't matter how many GOTY awards it will get from reviewers because that's all only their personal opinion. In 2009 for example no other game came even close to Uncharted 2 regarding goty awards. So what? For me it was goty, but not for everyone and that's nothing to worry about. Not everyone likes everything. And btw, a great metacritic score doesn't say anything either. Just look at GTA IV; it is the second best rated game ever..., for me it isn't even in my Top50.

Furthermore... for me it seems that you only believe those statements about Xbox360 exclusives that favors these games..., or am I wrong.

So... my opinion: the trailer looks good but I'm not so impressed. Yes, I have it among my most anticipated games, but while looking at the gameplay it isn't probably my type of game, so I'm not so sure anymore.

OT:  Game looks awesome.  Can't wait!!

I gotta say while my 360 has been pretty lonely this year (I played the amazing ME2 on PC) this game excites me more than pretty much any other console title including . Halo Reach? Sounds like more of the same, but this game looks really awesome. I'm still a little miffed PC users got the shaft though. This will almost certainly be my first full-price 360 game of the year and it looks as credible as any non-released game when it comes to GOTY awards. But who really knows until they can actually judge it for themselves. This likely most most anticipated HD game thus far after MGS4. Thats pretty good marketing for a new IP.

If you mean will it sweep the board (more or less) with "official" GOTY awards then I'm thinking no - its genre alone I think will work against it.

But it could pick up a few - and if you like it that much then that's what matters for you.
