Forums - Nintendo - A little late to the Resident Evil scene

I've never played one in my life, but just 2 days ago I bought Resident Evil 4 Wii edition, and WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE???!!!

I always steered clear from RE games because I thought they would be to "Die every 20 seconds" kind of thing, but upgrading weapons, stocking on ammo gives me an awesome sensation of confidence and a "F**king bring it on!" attitude.

What an excellent game, it has been so long since I have been so absorbed into a game before, every second is action/suspense, incredible, Wii is really doing it for me these days.

I'm also very pleased that by years end Capcom would of sold over 1 million copies.

EDIT: How many chapters are in this game? I'm on 2.2 and I don't want it to end anytime soon.

i thought that they had already sold 1 million?

Glad you've finally played it! it is by far the best RE game, and its in my top 3 favourate games of all time. It suits the wii so well, and Capcom really made the controls work! It doesnt feel like theyre tacked on like most other ports.

1 million to retailers, which means it will (or probably already has) sell 1 million to consumers by years end.

Don't assume that cause you loved RE4 you would have loved all the previous games in the series. The controls in the earlier games were horrible and the camera view was just as bad. RE4 is by far the best in the series.

The main game has 5 long chapters. After you beat it, there are unlockables that will add more to the game and story. I don't want to spoil the extras for you, but you can look them up on gamefaqs if you are really curious.

Resident Evil is one of the best series ever, especially it's latest (classic) installment, RE4. Enjoy the game while it's still easy. Wait till you get to the last chapters! I think 5-4 is the last one.

PS: I'd also recomend RE0, RE remake on Cube and RE2

That's true, but the earlier RE games did one thing that RE4 didn't: scared you. :)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

It is kinda easy so far, a lot easier than I thought it would be.
Mainly because the game basically throws ammo at you, I imagine it will get much harder like you have stated, hopefully I will be able to get enough room in my inventory to hold all the stuff I want plus a Rocket Launcher, I'd feel secure with one of those things on standby.

5.4 chapters, good the game must be decent sized.

Welcome to the wonderful world of resident evil.

Next up, Try RE2: different controls, but way scarier.

Don't worry, you've got a ways to go. Even after you finish the game, you've still got TWO Ada Wong side stories, the mercenaries mini game, and the intense need to play the game again with your upgraded weapons. The older RE games are different beasts all together, but they are worth playing. You don't have long before RE5 (I hope). Get to work!
