Forums - Gaming Discussion - How will FF be "revived" in Japan? since FF13 flopped there...

Final Fantasy XIII won't sell a single copy more in Japan.

btw, it didn't flop at all, underperformed a bit? maybe.

FF needs to go handheld. 3DS!!

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Make a real old school turn base RPG with good story, good characters. Go back to the roots of FANTASY and throw away so call modernization like 1 linear path, townless feature, over sci-fi and over emotional stupid characters like Hope and Lightning, too action oriented combat.

All they want is a PURE FF, and I want one too; cant stand walk, walk, walk, fight , fight, a chest at other short end, turn back, event, kind of stupid mono gameplay.

Well you forgot to mention that every version had an international one or rerelease , so wait and see you in a couple of years :)

Currently Playing: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3), White Knight Chronicles (PS3), PES 2010 (PS3), Killzone 2 (PS3)

Games to Finish: Silent hill Homecoming (PS3), Valkyria Chronicles (PS3), Oblivion (PS3)

A downwards sales trend since the peak of FFVII back in 1997. Japan may well be sick of FF series.

It flopped? You want to compare the final sales of all the rest of the FFs to one that's been on the Japanese market for less than 6 months? Uhh...ok, whatever

FF7 increase means that FF 6 was a success and that FF7 was very anticipated.

FF 8's lower sales means that FF 7 was a failure and FF8 wasn't hitting a sweet spot

FF 9's lower sales means that FF 8 was a failure and that FF 9 wasn't hitting a sweet spot

rinse repeat and you have a justification for that slope.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Really now?

Does that mean that Pokemon Red/Blue/Green were failures as well?

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

almost 40% of Ps3 owners in japan have the game and it is the game with best selling numbers for Ps3 in japan... that is hardly a flop...

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

I doubt it'll get an international version since the western version didnt have any extras. Also take into account all the people who imported the game (more than any other FF most likely due to PS3s being region free).
