Forums - Gaming - Bungie and Activision Announce Exclusive, Worldwide Partnership

Not surprising. However Activision is a foolish choice I think, but Bungie seems to have worked out a pretty good deal here and its seeminly only for whatever new franchise they're working on and not everything so if they get burned they wont be completely locked into stayiing with Activision.

The title of this thread should have been: "Bungie have sold their Souls"

i wonder if they are permitted to make anything but futuristic FPS Games

...is that Bobby Kotick i hear yelling at them: "Make me another Halo!" ?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Congrats Bungie and Activision

great they lost infinity ward and now they are trying to take over bungie i hope bungie doesn't give out to such an evil company and Sony guys this doesn't mean bungie can make halo games on ps3 since Microsoft owns the property so don't even start with that bull

i know, i edited my post , Halo is MS's IP  but Bungie choose the worst publisher and activision is going to use them very badly.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

Wouldn't be surprised if Bungie takes over Modern Warfare

They should have known better. I have got a feeling that Bungie will think about the time with Microsoft as a time of being milked like a big fat cow for more and more Halo games.

Fixed. Activision isn't any better, but at least we might stop hearing about the Halo franchise for a little while, that alone being worth the price.

Why is this in red shouldn't it be orange since it refers to pc, xbox 360 and ps3

oh yeah i agree hopefully bungie made the right choice by choosing EA after what happened to IW

The interesting thing is, that Bungie is well known for one thing: Halo

And that is the one thing Activision won't get with Bungie because the Halo IP is owned by Microsoft

What i want to say is, Activision is well aware that just the name of the Studio has a value of its own even without their main-IP, but they seem to ignore that fact with Infinity Ward.

...and lets hope for Bungie they negotiated a time-frame for Bonus payments

As long as they don't touch Modern Warfare, I'm fine with whatever they decide to make. It'll be a new IP anyway, so we can clear that out of the way. Hopefully something new and exciting.
