Forums - Microsoft - Some People Still Keeping Halo 2 Alive!

Bungie.net Forums

Throughout the past week, a small group of dedicated Halo 2 players kept their Xbox's on so that they could enjoy the game for a while longer. (As long as we don't turn off our Xbox's, or lose connection, we can stay online. Our Xbox's have been on for nearly 13 days straight) Each day the amount of people decreased, at a rapid rate.

A lot of us became really good friends, and it's almost like we're family now.
For a while, we had 'T0 Be Continued' Live streaming all of our games, until her Xbox regrettably froze while playing custom games. Then, 'Mr7ankjump' did a live stream, but he lagged out only 4 hours later.

There is still a Live stream that is sometimes going on throughout the day.

Z0mbie Stench's Live Stream
Though it is recorded through a web cam, it is the best she could do.

xxBooker Dxx's Live stream
If he can figure out how to get his capture card to work, this live stream may be up later, also.

We will keep playing until we are all forcibly removed. It could be by Microsoft, Bungie, our Xbox's overheating, or just lagging out. Not for competition, not for a prize, but for the love, and memory of Halo 2.

I want to thank everyone that I've played with in the past few days, this is by far my favorite memory in all my gaming history.

Right now there are only 13 players online, here is a list of our names:
Agent Windex
APACHE N4SIR
sherlok 1
SieferSword
Rob2D
z0mbie stench
Lord Odysseus11
xxMAKDADYxx
H2o Shoagie
xxBooker Dxx
DirtyCajun
AForeignObject
HiredN00bs

I will keep this list updated, until it's down to 0.

That is so insane! Seriously kudos to them that is amazing. I would have never thought to do that.

I should be doing this, halo 2 is what made online so fun for me, all those days playing with friends and just messing around, it was all too fun. I guess you dont know what you lost until its gone

Can't be said any better.

I salute everyone who is remaining online, until the plug is forcibly pulled one way or another.  Godspeed. *tear*

EDIT: I dunno why, but this really moves me.  I don't know how many times video games have done that, but not many.  I guess it's more people's interactions with the game as well as each other online.  Good shit. Good shit.

Nice!  If this was the 360, that would never be possible since all of their systems would have succumbed to the RROD by now.

Spoiler:  I KID, I KID!!!

But anyway, are gamers who play Halo 2 on their 360 able to play  the online multiplayer through the current Xbox Live network, or does that not work for original Xbox titles?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I wonder how many time more those xboxes will last before frying.

This is one of the most dedicated moments in gaming like ever.

Only the fan-servers for Phantasy Star Online Gamecube can compare to this.
