i guess im not enough of a fanboy to see where threads like this come from...but heres what i know. it does not matter if the ps3 sells 100 million more systems then the xbox, just take a little look at the sales numbers provided on this site. start by taking a look at the top 10 360 games and see how that compares to the top 20 ps3 games...and slowely work your way down the list. Then after you tally up the sales for both sides, then come post why you think the xbox is "doomed" I love how people act like if a system sells more consoles somehow some imaganary war ends, lol look at the psp's console sales then look at its software sales....Consoles sold dont mean anything if games are not being sold for it....end of story

360 this year cannot be compared to PS3...

First, 360 still enjoys very solid software sales. And more often then not outsells PS3 in multi-platform releases. Second, Microsoft still has a lot of cards to use. They can pull another price drop, slim, and Natal hype. Not to mention Alan Wake, Crackdown, Halo Reach, and Fable III still haven't released.

At this time last year PS3 looked sick. Uncharted 2 was the only ray of hope. And then later Sony used a double-trump card just to get back into the generation. Slim and price drop.

Sure Sony has Move to counter Natal. But, what can Sony do (without losing money) to counter another 360 price drop and the hype that a 360 slim + Natal could generate? Countering Alan Wake and Crackdown 2 with Mod Nation Racers is pathetic (even if MNR is good)... And only GT5 is currently standing to counter Halo Reach and Fable III while 360 owners have been enjoying Forza 3 for 6 months now and will probably get some great DLC to help counter the GT5 release (new tracks).

Watch this in 720p and tell me it's doomed.

I think they'll be fine, even if some day they drop to 3rd overall due to Japan.  Who cares?  They are already a success with 360.

Microsoft In general is doomed. Sony is crushing Xbox 360 with the PS3 and Linux completely destroys the need of Windows.

The Xbox 360 will be revitalized post E3 (repeating the situation of 2008 for 360 and the situation of 2009 for PS3) and will be a perfectly healthy and strong console for 2-3 more years when the next generation starts in Fall 2012/2013.

Without Japan PS3 and Xbox 360 weekly sales are pretty equal even MS didn't do much to counter PS3's price cut and slim and first party games. And I'm pretty sure 3rd Party non-Japanese companies would not worry about Japanese console sales.

Wait until Natal and Xbox new model and price cut b4 you say this. MS is in a much better position than Sony has ever been in this gen.

360 is the best console out period.
