We'll see what happens in the future. I am pretty sure that Microsoft has been very, very impressed with Sony's rebranding of the Playstation, and are hoping to do something similar with the release of Natal.

If Microsoft can improve the xbox image and get it in line with the Natal image, as well as sprout more than one significant Natal game, then they can turn the ship around. But if they are not properly on message and if they fail to provide big Natal games, xbox will end up 3rd.

I still maintain that the xbox and the PS3 will end up within 10 million of each other.

Ohh this is just like the August 2008 all over again. People were trying to get their "360 am doomed" topics out then before THE CRUSHENING hit. I guess all this slim talk just signifies the calm before the storm of THE CRUSHENING Part II.

all threads saying anything about doomed consoles have no point because they reflect nothing of the future. i'd like to think of myself as a realist when it comes to things like this. ok so i've made some predictions just to get a rise out of people (and it has worked. insults and all witch are never called for) but to assume (and you know what they say about people that assume) that a console is going to be doomed because of falling sells is rediculous, but it is a good argument to make. because of threads like this it makes me re-think my what and who i support? i now support the idea that all cosoles will be succeeful.

yes. its more likely that because of natal the 360 will sale 13m in 2011, 11m in 2012 only if the 360 sells 45m by the end of this yr. its more likely ps3 sells will increase over the next two yr's (if they sell 45m by the end of this yr) from 15m to either 17 or 18m, and 20m by the end of 2012. don't criticize because i would never criticize you. just explain why you don't think it will happen. i know that (45+13+11=69m for 360 but thats not somethong im willing to post because i don't be leave it)

The PS3 stands no chance of selling 49m in 32 months.

Basically you are saying in the next 32 months

PS3 49m  (average of 1.5m per month or 346k per week)

All wrong imo, there is simply no justfication for that kind of increase for the PS3.

Not the same spot. You see the PS3 actually has to pass the Xbox 360 sometime in 2011 if ever for them to be in near the same spot. However in absolute console sales the Xbox 360 passed the point of no doom quite a while back.

Thats even worse.  Thats nearer 1.6m per month then for 2011 and 2012.  370k per week. 


so what your telling me is that the ps3 will not grow by 2m every yr for the next two yr's. and your saying the Ps3 won't sell 45m by the end of this yr. so i would say (without doing any math) that your predictions are more like this.

i can also understand that your thinking is that sony nintendo and microsoft just don't have any surprises left for any of this to happen. oh by the way this is fun i havn't debated in a long time.

If you guys think about it, this is the most competitive generation of the SONY gaming era. Compared to last 2 gens even wii isn't ahead by that much.
