Looks like the Eilte Xbox is supply constrained!

Well played, sir, well played.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I can't believe people still think the PS3 is supply constraint....

The last NPD saw PS3 over-tracked by like 120k on here.

The PS3 numbers have decreased for sometime now but the big drops are due to as ioi said this period being the slow period for games.

Just because something is not selling as well as it once was does not mean it is due to some harsh supply constraint. Just face it the hype of the PS3 on this website does not match the hype for it everywhere else. For example here in the UK, just before, during and after FFXIII,GOW3,BC2 etc it was averaging around 16k a week. We have been nearly 4-8 weeks from that period and it is now down to around 8k-9k a week. This does not mean it is out of stock because it is everywhere here. It just means it needs something else now to boost sales. It is the cycle of selling.

No one said anything about the UK.  There are only shortages in the US.  And that is proven by checking out online stores, as well as retail stores in various areas.  Amazon is out.  Target is out.  And Alceste007 posted a link to the Best Buy site proving that it was in stock, which I'm guessing meant that it was when he searched.  I clicked the link not long after he posted it and it already had switched to being sold out online.  And all of these sites say it may take up to 4 weeks to get more shipments.  So there is no way someone can say there is no shortage here in the US.  ioi may have been speaking of the Others region, which I'm guessing he has much more info about considering he lives in that area.

Now, I'm not saying that the PS3 would be selling by the truck loads.  But, to actually say there are no shortages when several large online retailers located in the US are sold out and may not be getting any for another month is just ridiculous.

I can't believe this many posters are still trying to make people believe PS3 is supply constrained. Face it ioi even agrees that everything is easy to get. Just because you guys go around for five minutes typing in internet sites doesn't count as research face it its in stock and still way up YOY just be happy with that.

Oh man, my mistake.  Where you posted I was wrong with no proof whatsoever shows me how wrong I am.  I guess I should just ignore these sites, huh?

PlayStation 3 120 GB purchase limit policy
As you may know, the PlayStation 3 120 GB is in great demand. In an effort to provide as many customers as possible with the opportunity to purchase a PlayStation 3 120 GB, we are limiting the total number of PlayStation 3 120 GB units that can be purchased. As a result, each household may purchase up to three PlayStation 3 120 GB units.

Nothing to see here, folks.  No shortage whatsoever.

BTW, I have no problem with the sales.  I'm glad they are up YOY.  I do know they would be up slightly (probably just at or below the 360 US sales) if some of the larger online retailers in the US weren't sold out, but hey, that's what comes with high demand and low supply in the US.  My only problem is with people ignoring that there is still a supply constraint, while their only argument is "you're wrong."

This week is boring.

Orland Park and Lombard IL BestBuys have plenty of PS3s as does the Costco in Orland Park, IL

So you think that your bit of "research" by checking online retailers is better and more comprehensive than ioi's research?  I just want an honest answer here since you seem so confident that the PS3 is supply constrained.  Your saying that ioi is wrong?

Maybe amazon just don't want to sell any PS3 themselves 'cause they had to reimbursed for the removal of OtherOS?

oh look at how fast the people on the ps3 is teh DOOMED bandwagon, hopefully Sony sort out these shortages, as for PS3 being over tracked, in your dreams, if anything it is under tracked and there are shortages in the US, never mind Japan will sort this out x360 to be outsold this week by at least 20k

LOL but they can't do the "ps3 is doomz!" why? because if they call ps3 doomed when it's outselling 360 and UP YOY massively then that makes the 360? doomer?.
