Yes they could hit 10 million before April 08, however that wasn't what Sony's prediction was, they thought they were going to sell 11 million this fiscal year, so you can take away 3.7 (about that i think) million away from whatever they end up with.

If i remember in the recent fiscal reports they changed it from 11 million to 10 million for the fiscal. (someone correct me if i am wrong) though i will be suprised if they manage 7 million myself (which would be 10.7 million LTD before April)

The end of March is the end of Sony's fiscal year, and that's what I have predicted for quite a while now. I wasn't going by what Sony had predicted to sell, just what I expected cumulative sales to be. Who knows, maybe the PS3 will really take off and sell like gangbusters even after xmas? Maybe Sony has a plan shortly after Xmas to do another price drop, or some other incentive to really draw people to the system.

cool, i predicted 8million by the end of 2008 and 10million by the end of March for quite a while too. (at least since July).

and no deviation59, the original Sony forcast for fiscal year 08 (the one we are in) was 11 million...that's for the year, not a life-to-date by March.

My original predictions were between 7.3 and 7.9 millions ....but judging as it is outdoing my best scenarios for these weeks I think it definitely can do 8 million and maybe a little more .The sales in Japan and Europe have started to increase since two weeks but they will absolutely explode from now on so it can do it for sure ...

@TWRoO: Isn't Sony prediction about fiscal year based on units shipped? (even if they call it sold) If so the numbers they "sell" will be higher than 11 million and the difference between prediction and real numbers won't be as big.
