i know this day in age it's ridiculous but after seeing all the beautiful hand drawn 2D art i was hoping it would be a 2D console RPG

But at least it looks like the game is going to have higher end graphics. Possibly even better than Xenoblade.

I really dont think the first screen is CGI even though everyone says it is... It looks like an in game cinematic.. maybe but definitely not CGI.

Yes, but what is amazing is when a third party actually tries to do so on the Wii.  TO date, I can only think of a few that have done so aside from rail shooters and 2D games.  In other words, eventhough Xenoblade is looking like an enhanced PS2 title in the graphics department, its sadly still one of the 'better' games in terms of its graphics, aside from say Monster Hunter Tri and a few other games.
