Do we really need a Next Gen?

No! 59 41.26%

We need a real next gen, not same old shit with HD graphics like this one.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Well, the PSP 2000 doubled the amount of RAM. That's another example of stealth upgrading.

how many games looked better because of it?

It's not that looked better, but they ran smoother and had faster loading times.

I thought the extra 32MB was reserved for XMB/firmware, and developers weren't allowed access beyond the original 32MB spec?

I remember seeing a comparison video of Crisis Core whenever the 2000 just came out. The game running on PSP 2000 had significantly shorter load times.

I can't seem to find the video after a quick google search, but I'll keep trying.

I am surprised at how many people don't think we need another console generation I mean do they really think this is as good as it gets? Well if they really don't want another generation they can always not buy into the next gen if 42% of gamers really don't want a next gen console that would mean the next gen would fail and the current gen will continue on as long as they keep buying games. But somehow I think that almost all of you will go out and buy a next gen console when you see what is on offer lol.

We absolutely do. Just not until 2012-2013.

I think most reasonable people think we will see new hardware sometime 2012, personally I think second half of 2011 is the soonest we will see a new home console probably from Nintendo or Microsoft I doubt Sony will release before 2012 but I could be wrong.

Not anytime soon. I am more than happy with my current systems and games. Not to mention the back log that is going to be getting higher this year.
