Murder, Discrimination, and Revenge are the only three that can cause harmful things. To be ignorant of what sex is much worst than sex itself. Slavery isn't a major issue in the 1st world, where most games are bought. Gore isn't bad, it's the method of how that gore was conjured (murder, amputation, etc.). If you can't handle that truth, good luck being a doctor.
I think Discrimination is the worst. People need to be able to work together without prejudice against a race, religious group, etc.
I don't discriminate. I hate everybody equally. lol
That made my day. :)
OT: I'd say that, at least in my case, nothing ever affected me as a kid. I've been playing Grand Theft Auto since I was 5 years old. Once a child can tell the difference between reality and fiction, anything is allowable.
I'm actually a special case, as I'm apparently "gifted" (my fucking God I hate that word. I don't "feel" any different from everyone else. I guess with an IQ of of 170 though, it's kinda hard to argue that I'm not "gifted"). I matured, mentally and physically, faster than normal. For example, I hit puberty at the age of 8, and scored a 1610 on the SAT at the age of 13, with no knowledge of algebra at all.
I guess that, because of this, my point of view as a child doesn't really mean anything, as I'm a rare exception.
One thing I don't understand the fear of is sex. It's a very important part of the human experience. I'm not saying that letting a 5 year old watch porn is acceptable, but I don't think that parents should make any active efforts to "hide" sex from their child. As a firm believer in evolution, I believe that every human will discover sex eventually, whether they are taught it or not. Animals aren't taught sex, they just know it by instinct, as do humans.
Also, I believe that children should be exposed to these kind of things at least marginally. While it may affect them negatively, it is important that they understand that these things do exist in the world. You could say that's forcing children to grow up too fast (something I experienced myself. I basically completely missed the innocence of childhood), but it will only make them stronger in the long run.
