If microsoft gets agresive with Natal pricing then yes.

Although I'm quite sure Nintendo won't cut price if just XB360 and PS3 sales get better, but only if Wii sales worsen at the same time.

Yes but $200 arcade with bundled Natal and strong advertising campaign before Christmas would hurt Wii sales.

I'd be surprised. Facts showed that for the same price XB360 doesn't beat anybody, it needed $100 advantage to beat PS3, and Wii sales are stronger than PS3 ones and its market a lot less overlapping with XB360 one than PS3 too.

As a few others have said, ONLY if MS/Sony make price cuts that demonstrate Wii is losing market share.

However, with the new PS3 revision and the upcoming Natal/Move, its very possible they will cut by $50 at a maximum towards the end of the year.

If it happens this year will be at holidays, but to $179, not $150.

not before summer 2011 IMHO

Yeah but $200 arcade wasn't interesting for so called blue ocean or whatever Maelstrom calls them people. However $200 arcade with Natal is direct competitor to people lured to Wii by motion sensing technology.

And with strong advertising and media buzz it'll also be atractive as a gift for christmas as a "hot" item.

I think at 179.99 price tag would be sexy to most people, that means it would be less than 200 bucks after tax. And mentally 179.99 looks alot better than 199.99 and it is only 20 bucks.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Summer 2011 at earliest. Nintendo's response to any MS drop this fall will be to value add (Wii+WRS+NSMBW @ $199?).

Yes, bundled with Natal and priced $200 Arcade could be seen as offering comparable features at the same price and it could eat a slice of very casual Wii buyers, it all depends on Natal and games, and in games lies Sony and MS motion controls weakness, Wii already has a huge library of games using motion control, but Natal starts from scratch and Move from its Sony ancestors PSEye and Sixaxis, that never had a success comparable to Wii.

MS marketing could help, I agree, but they need to start before XB360 sales lose too much steam.

Unless Natal launches with Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Mario Kart and NSMB, I don't think Nintendo has much to worry about.

There are some games on Wii that I would like to play: Muramasa, Epic Mickey, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, NSMBWii, No More Heroes, the updates to the GCN Metroid games, Other M, Silent Hill remake, maybe Monster Hunter, Fragile Dreams, Twilight Princess and the next Zelda and a number of the Wii Ware and VC titles among them

But, I'm not quite ready to pay $199 for a Wii (I would be comfortable paying $150 for one).

When do you think is the earliest we could see expect to see another Wii price cut?

just to point out. If you cut any one of those games (just one) out of your wanted list, you'd have spent the same amount? Seriously, you can get the Wii with NSMBWii right now from walmart - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Nintendo-Wii-Console-Sports-Bonus/10726532 that should be good enough for you right?

Anyways, I doubt there will be a price cut this year. Maybe next year.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
