FFiX: ???
FFX: 9.8

Around the Network

Just like every other thread, I will compare FFX to the games of its time and other PS2 games. As such, I give it a solid 9.0 out of 10. I still consider it both a step forward and a step back for the series, as I wish they had kept more of the interactive and junction elements of FFVIII, such as being able to junction status effects to your weapons or use button combinations for additional damage during limit breaks. And they could have done a lot more with Yuna's Summons, which later in the game just became pretty meat shields. But the idea to evolve characters with a sphere grid, the change from a ATB system to a more technical and skill based system and the deeper characters were all good. The story could have used a lot of work however.

I did not play FFIX so I cannot rate it.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

FFIX - 9.5 One word: Vivi. I know many people that couldn't get into it after the "realistic" characters of VII and VIII, but I thought they were wonderful(and the fact that they were unique beyond looks is a HUUUUUUGE plus in my mind) and after a long wait I was once again drawn into a beautiful world.

FFX - 8 The only FF(well mainline, I did the same with X-2) to date that I started and had to return to quite some time later to finish. That's not a knock on it at all, just a consequence of broadening my tastes and taking on too many games at a time as well as being busier in general. The fact that I was able to get right back into the story without having to restart or ditch it altogether is testament to it being a good game in my mind.

FF IX = 10/10 the best game ever for me ! I am just in love with it.

FF X = 8/10 really good, but too much linear for me.

ff9: 9/10

ff10: 8/10

FFIX: 4

FFIX: 8.5/10 The trance ability and the slow battle pace was kind of annoying and tired me out.

FFX: 9.5/10 Voice acting was horrible but loved the story and gameplay.

FFIX - N/A

I have yet to play this game, and just like with V, I'm not sure how I've never played it. From what I hear, it doesn't sound like a game I'd like too much, unlike V, which I just have some weird interest in, although after amazing titles like FFVII and VIII, I can't imagine they could have screwed up too much on this game. I'll definately give it a shot when it comes on PSN.

FFX: 9.5

This game is better than VIII, so I felt I had to round up to 9.5... but where do I begin? I loved the battle system in X, it was very unique and allowed a lot of planning. FFX has the best non-traditional leveling system and it also gave the player a feeling of accomplishment as well as understanding as they watched the sphere grid fill up. Blitzball still steals hours of my life away, as well as the monster arena. While not all of the characters are some of my favorites (Kimahri.. or however you spell his name), it still has some very awesome characters like Rikku, Tidus, and Yuna, as well as some of the most memorable scenes in gaming.

It's a good thing that FFX is really good, because otherwise the series footprint on the PS2 era would be pretty poor.

FF IX 10/10 - Best Final Fantasy for me. Amazing music and characters

FF X  7/10 - Meh FF game but there are worse.

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?
