Forums - Sony - If the PSP Go was $150 Would you get it?

I wouldn't just because I already have a PSP. It's the original one in 2005, and I hated it until recently when they started putting good games on PSN, like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy, LBP, GOW, etc. I hate the UMD and enjoy downloading games instead because it doesn't use as much energy.

Yes, if it played Dreamcast games

No, I would buy it for 100$.

It's the fair price for a UMD-less PSP and for a console that is almost dead.

You really need to put things in perspective. What is the mp3/mp4 player with 16 GB memory built in, bluetooth, wi-fi, awesome screen and small design below 150$ you know of? Not even talking about playing PSP games here. PSPgo is clearly design to be a multimedia device as is a Zune or Ipod but with PSP games playback.

Booyah. vs Zune, vs DS, vs iTouch, a $149 PSPGo stacks up really, really well.

Not only that but..."almost dead"?  The sales of PSP in general really aren't that bad.  And if the hardware started moving (as in, following a Go price drop) the already-great software library would be receiving more releases outside of Japan, where software is going really strong.

No it doesn't. No touchscreen means no keyboard means no surfing the net or email. Cripples its utility.

hell yeah.

too big for an mp3/mp4 player, also battery life doesn't help that purpose.

bluetooth for what? I need an extra device apart of my phone with bluetooth for what?

Wi-Fi? I'm yet to see any PSP owner using the PSP browser with buttons. Even the DS browser is a bit gimmick and tricky to navigate, psp browser is laughable control-wise.

Awesome screen's can be found on ebay for 10$, you choose it.

For a multimedia device, there's much more choices out there.

The point of getting a PSP is to play games, period. Now talking about games, the PSP library isn't as good as DS's library, yet it has some amazing pearls... just like the gamecube, which costed 100$ at one point...

It's the fair price for what the PSPgo is.   I bet with you that a 99$ PSPgo would sky rocket PSP sales.

No i wouldn't because it feels too small and irritating when I hold it. And I'm afraid that I will literally break it by accident because it feels really weak.

That's one function.  Another is a library of full game titles like the PSP and DS have; Zune and iTouch lack those.  Music and movies?  DS lacks.  Etc.  You could make feature lists and look at game libraries and other functions, and a $149 Go would be really a competitive value, and would sell like panties after a Jonas brothers concert (a year ago).

No, because I already have a PSP 1000 series.

No, i like being able to buy games on UMD. If it came with a UMD converter that lets me transfer my UMDs to the hard drive... yeah maybe... but as it is, no thanks. Not going to rebuy the games i already own.
