Forums - Nintendo - SMG price cut?

With the imminent arrival of Super Mario Galaxy 2, will the original get a permanent price cut? How about when the new Zelda arrives? How much would those cuts be and how significant of a sales spike would accompany those (theoretical) cuts?

Yeah, Nintendo doesn't strike me as the type to cut price on AAA releases like those, even though they're so much older and their successors have already arrived. Was just curious what others thought. Maybe future bundles to attract different crowds?

Bah!

Corruption is $49.99 at most retailers and the Trilogy has been out for ~8 months if that's an indication.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Perhaps the Corruption/Trilogy situation is a little different since Nintendo has stated it's not producing Trilogy anymore, meaning that if you want Corruption you'd have to just buy it on its own? Still, $49.99 for Corruption is kinda nutty. I got Trilogy when it was on sale at Best Buy for $19.99. Best deal buck-for-buck I've spent on a video game probably ever.

Im still waiting for Mario Party 8 to get a price cut.

no

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Hard to believe a game like Mario Party 8 hasn't gotten a price cut. Sheesh.

Bah!

what do you expect its Nintendo, when you get a game from Nintendo they are worth it lol
