While it would suck to have to wait for Metroid, it will give me time to beat SMG2 as well as my PS3 titles.

no metroid dont do me like brawl
you know I love you mario we go way back
but I wish metroid would've released may 23 and you june 27
plus it would've make more sense
Nintendo made me a gamer so I'd be stupid to ever try to forget that like so many people nowadays

That doesn't really mean anything. Nintendo has already delayed games out of nowhere before. I remember Brawl being less than a month away from release in the U.S. before it got pushed back again.
And seriously, if this is true, it had better not interfere with Wii Zelda's release date (even if already is planned for Q1 2011).
It would be disappointing but I think it would make sense for both games to be pushed back a bit. Have Metroid release a month after S&P 2. That way there is one Nintendo game a month, instead of 3 in one month. Although I think FlingSmash (I think that's the name?), is also supposed to be releasing soon. If the vitality sensor game were to come out in August or so that would be crazy, 5 Nintendo developed Wii games in 4 months, I don't think that has happened since launch, if ever.

I know Nintendo has delayed games last minute before, but as I said I have no reason to believe a random forum poster over Nintendo's statements. If I have to believe one, it'll be Nintendo almost every time.
Zelda is currently planned for CY2010 as of Nintendo's last information. I really doubt this would affect that games release in any way. The teams aren't even related in any way so it's not like there would be a resource fight. Most people claim games are "too close together" honestly I don't believe this is an issue unless they are the same week or maybe 1 right after the other. Besides, Ninintendo beleives in sales over a long period of time, not 1 month only sales, so having 2 on top of each other shouldn't matter to them. If you look at March for PS3 they had 3 big releases in the same month, and I doubt any of their sales were "hurt" due to being too close together.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
To nitpick, Mario Party 8 was Hudson. Or at least I am 90% sure it was farmed out to a close third party. Not that it really detracts all that much from the point.
Metroid isn't all that exciting to me, so it doesn't really affect me too much..alot of non-metroid fans are buying into the hype they see on the internet for whatever reason, but I won't be jumping in that bandwagon anytime soon. I'm curious how well it will really do in the long-run, but I expect alot of reviews to praise it over simply being wow'd by the hype and cutscenes because they just want to love Metroid so freaking much this year. Nothing against the franchise personally, and I liked Super Metroid, but I'm tired of people over-loving Metroid just because they think it makes them look better as Nintendo fans. Not everyone is doing this obviously, not even most, but I've been seeing enough of it (IMHO) to say something about it.
I hope this is just a rumor, these are the only games I care about coming out for Wii this year
